When he tore Israel away from the house of David, they made Jeroboam son of Nebat their king. Jeroboam enticed Israel away from following the Lord and caused them to commit a great sin.

The Lord took control of Israel away from the royal house of David. The Israelites made Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, their king. Jeroboam tried to get Israel to stop following the Lord. He caused them to commit a terrible sin.

王不听从人民的要求，这事原是出于神，为要实现耶和华藉着示罗人亚希雅对尼八的儿子耶罗波安所说的话。以色列人见王不听他们的要求，就对王说：“我们和大卫有什么关系呢？我们和耶西的儿子并不相干。以色列人哪，各回各家去吧，大卫啊，现在只顾你自己的家吧。”于是全体以色列人都回自己的家去了。只有那些住在犹大众城镇的以色列人，罗波安仍然作他们的王。罗波安王差派了监管苦工的哈多兰（“哈多兰”是“亚多尼兰”或“亚多兰”的另一种写法﹔参王上4:6，12:18）到以色列人那里去，以色列人就用石头把他打死了。罗波安王急忙上车，逃回耶路撒冷去了。这样，以色列人背叛了大卫家，直到今日。

耶罗波安为邱坛、公山羊神，以及他铸造的牛犊，自己设立了祭司。

耶和华啊！因你名的缘故，求你赦免我的罪孽，因为我的罪孽重大。

我把国从大卫家夺过来，赏赐给你；你却不像我仆人大卫那样谨守我的诫命，一心跟从我，行我看为正的事。

“耶和华必使灾难的日子临到你和你的人民，以及你的父家，自从以法莲脱离犹大以来，未曾有过这样的日子，就是亚述王的入侵。”

这样，那两个青年人在耶和华面前所犯的罪很大，因为他们藐视献给耶和华的祭物。

这样，以色列人背叛了大卫家，直到今日。以色列众人听说耶罗波安回来了，就派人去请他到会众面前，立他作以色列的王；除了犹大支派以外，没有跟随大卫家的。

耶稣说：“如果不是从天上给你权柄，你就无权办我；因此，把我交给你的那人，罪更重了。”

他又巩固这些设防城，在城里设军长，贮备粮食、油和酒。

亚比米勒把亚伯拉罕召了来，对他说：“你为什么向我们这样行呢？我在什么事上得罪了你，以致你给我和我的国带来这个大罪呢？你对我作了不应该作的事。”

摩西对亚伦说：“这人民向你作了什么，你竟使他们陷在大罪里呢？”

我儿啊，不要这样，因为我听见的消息很不好，你们使耶和华的子民违背律法。
