They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them,“ Do not do as they do.”

They refused to obey his rules. They broke the covenant he had made with them. They didn’t pay any attention to the rules he had warned them to keep. They worshiped worthless statues of gods. Then they themselves became worthless. They followed the example of the nations around them. They did it even though the Lord had ordered them not to. He had said,“ Do not do as they do.”

They despised his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. They went after false idols and became false, and they followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom the Lord had commanded them that they should not do like them.

They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols, so they became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the Lord’s command not to imitate them.

They rejected his rules, the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and the laws he had commanded them to obey. They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to the LORD. They copied the practices of the surrounding nations in blatant disregard of the LORD’s command.

They rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified to them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom Yahweh had commanded them that they should not do like them.

那时，你要自己谨慎，不可在他们从你的面前被消灭以后，随从他们的恶俗而陷入网罗，也不可求问他们的神，说：‘这些国的人怎样事奉他们的神，我也要这样行。’你不可向耶和华你的神这样行，因为耶和华恨恶的一切可厌恶的事，他们都向他们的神行了，甚至把自己的儿女用火焚烧，献给他们的神。

他们以不是神的神激动了我的愤恨，以虚无之物惹动了我的怒气；我也以不是子民的人激动他们的愤恨，以愚昧的国民惹动他们的怒气。

因为他们虽然知道神，却不尊他为神，也不感谢他，反而心思变为虚妄，愚顽的心就迷糊了。他们自以为是聪明的，却成了愚蠢的。他们用必朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽和昆虫的形象，取代了永不朽坏的神的荣耀。

耶和华这样说：“你们列祖在我身上究竟发现了什么不义，使他们远离我，随从虚无的偶像，自己也成了虚妄呢？

智慧人必蒙羞，惊惶失措。看哪！他们弃绝了耶和华的话，他们还有什么智慧呢？

这是因为巴沙和他的儿子以拉的一切罪，就是他们自己所犯，又使以色列人陷在罪中的那些罪，以虚无的神惹耶和华以色列的神发怒。

摩西取了一半的血，盛在盆中；又取了另一半的血，洒在祭坛上。他又把约书拿过来，念给人民听；他们说：“耶和华吩咐的一切话，我们都必遵行和听从。”摩西就取了血来，洒在人民的身上，说：“看哪，这是立约的血，这约是耶和华按着这一切话与你们立的。”

虽然我不断差遣我的仆人众先知到你们那里去，说：你们千万不可行我所恨恶，这可憎的事！

他们在各邱坛上献祭和焚香，好像耶和华从他们的面前掳去的外族人一样，又行恶事，使耶和华发怒。他们又服事雕刻的偶像，耶和华曾警告他们不可以行这事。

偶像都是虚无的，是荒谬可笑的作品；到了讨罪的时候，它们必被除灭。

不可偏离耶和华，去追随那些空虚的偶像，因为它们本是空虚的，对人没有什么益处，也不能救人。

关于吃祭过偶像的食物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，也知道神只有一位，没有别的神。

这新约不像从前我拉他们祖先的手，领他们出埃及地的日子，与他们所立的约；我虽然是他们的丈夫，他们却违背了我的约。”这是耶和华的宣告。

你警告他们，要他们转向你的律法；但他们狂妄自大，不听从你的诫命，犯罪干犯你的典章。人应遵行这些典章，按照它们生活，他们却固执地扭转肩头，硬着颈项，不肯听从。你多年容忍他们，你的灵藉着你的众先知劝戒他们，他们还是不侧耳而听，所以你把他们交在各地的民族手中。

连我们的仇敌也自己断定，他们的磐石不像我们的磐石。

“今日你们全都站在耶和华你们的神面前；你们的首领、族长、长老、官长和以色列所有的男子，你们的小孩、妻子和在你营中的寄居者，以及为你们劈柴挑水的人，都站在耶和华你们的神面前，为要叫你遵守耶和华你的神今日与你所立的约，和他向你所起的誓；这样，他今日可以立你作他的子民，他可以作你的神，正如他曾经对你说过的，又对你的列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起过誓的。“我不但与你们立这约，起这誓；而且也与那些今日和我们在这里，一同站在耶和华我们的神面前的人，以及那些今日不与我们同在这里的人立这约，起这誓。

因为你们向别神烧香，得罪了耶和华，不听从耶和华的话，不遵行他的律法、条例和法度，所以这灾祸临到你们，好像今天一样。”

“可是他们竟悖逆，背叛你，把你的律法丢在背后，杀害那些控告他们，要他们归向你的先知，犯了亵渎的大罪。

做偶像的必和偶像一样；凡是倚靠它们的，都必这样。

他们随从耶和华从以色列人面前驱逐的外族人的风俗，以及以色列诸王奉行的风俗。

要谨慎遵守耶和华你们的神吩咐你的诫命、法度和律例。耶和华看为正为好的事，你都要去行，使你可以享福，并且可以进去占领耶和华向你的列祖起誓应许的那美地，

他行耶和华看为恶的事，随从耶和华在以色列人面前赶走的列国所行可厌恶的事。

可是玛拿西却引诱犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民行恶，比耶和华在以色列人面前除灭的列国更厉害。

他们全是顽梗愚昧，他们所领受的教导是来自那些虚无、木做的偶像。

耶和华他们列祖的神，因为爱惜自己的子民和居所，就常常差派使者警戒他们。他们却戏弄神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华的忿怒临到他的子民身上，直到无法挽救。

人就必回答：‘是因为他们离弃了耶和华他们列祖的神的约，就是耶和华把他们从埃及地领出来的时候，与他们所立的；去事奉别的神，向他们叩拜，就是他们不认识的神，也是耶和华没有给他们指定要拜的神；

耶稣又吩咐他们：“现在舀出来，送给筵席的总管！”他们就送去了。
