They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them,“ Do not do as they do.”

They refused to obey his rules. They broke the covenant he had made with them. They didn’t pay any attention to the rules he had warned them to keep. They worshiped worthless statues of gods. Then they themselves became worthless. They followed the example of the nations around them. They did it even though the Lord had ordered them not to. He had said,“ Do not do as they do.”

They despised his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. They went after false idols and became false, and they followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom the Lord had commanded them that they should not do like them.

They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols, so they became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the Lord’s command not to imitate them.

They rejected his rules, the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and the laws he had commanded them to obey. They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to the LORD. They copied the practices of the surrounding nations in blatant disregard of the LORD’s command.

那时，你们要谨慎，不可受诱惑去效法他们的习俗，不可打听他们神明的事，说，‘这些民族怎样供奉他们的神明呢？我也要效法。’你们不可按照他们的方式敬拜你们的上帝耶和华。他们祭拜自己神明的种种行为令耶和华憎恶，他们甚至焚烧自己的儿女献给他们的神明。

他们拜假神，让我愤恨；供虚无之物，惹我发怒。我要借无名之民挑起他们的嫉妒，用愚昧的国民激起他们的怒气。

他们虽然明知有上帝，却不把祂当作上帝，既不将荣耀归给祂，也不感谢祂。他们的思想因此变得荒谬无用，无知的心也变得昏暗不明。他们自以为聪明，其实愚不可及，以必朽的人、飞禽、走兽和爬虫的形象来取代永恒上帝的荣耀。

耶和华说：“你们的祖先在我身上找到什么过错，以致他们远离我，去追随虚妄的神明，使自己变得虚妄呢？

智者必蒙羞辱，受惊吓，被捉拿。看啊，他们既弃掉耶和华的话，哪里还有智慧可言呢？

这是因为巴沙和以拉父子二人作恶多端，祭拜假神，使以色列人陷入罪中，惹以色列的上帝耶和华发怒。

摩西把祭牲的血一半放在盆里，一半洒在坛上。他又把约书念给百姓听，百姓听了都说：“我们愿意遵行耶和华的一切吩咐，我们愿意顺服。”摩西便把盆中的血洒在百姓身上，说：“这是立约的血，是耶和华按所说的话与你们立约的凭据。”

我屡次差遣我的仆人——众先知警告他们不要再做令我深恶痛绝的事，

在各丘坛烧香，如同耶和华在他们面前赶走的外族人一样。他们邪恶的行为激怒了耶和华。尽管耶和华警告他们不可祭拜偶像，他们仍然执迷不悟。

它们毫无价值，荒谬可笑，在报应的时候必被毁灭。

不要去追求其他虚无的假神，它们对你们毫无益处，也不能拯救你们。

论到吃献给偶像的祭物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，只有一位上帝，此外别无他神。

这约不同于我与他们祖先所立的约，就是我牵着他们祖先的手领他们离开埃及时所立的。虽然我是他们的丈夫，他们却违背了我的约。这是耶和华说的。”

你警告他们，要使他们遵守你的律法，但他们行事狂傲，不听从你的诫命，干犯你的典章。人若遵行这典章就必存活，但他们背弃你，顽固不化，不肯听从。你多年来容忍他们，差遣你的灵借着你的众先知警告他们，但他们依然不肯听从，于是你把他们交在列邦手中。

我们的敌人也承认他们的磐石不如我们的磐石。

“今天，你们全都站在你们的上帝耶和华面前，包括你们的族长、长老、官员、所有以色列男子、你们的孩子、妻子和寄居在你们中间为你们砍柴挑水的外族人，为要接受你们的上帝耶和华与你们立的誓约。这样，祂今天将宣告你们是祂的子民、祂是你们的上帝，正如祂对你们的应许和对你们祖先亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的誓言。耶和华的这誓约不仅是与你们立的，也是与今天一同站在我们的上帝耶和华面前的人，以及今天不在这里的人立的。

你们遭遇今天的灾祸是因为你们向别的神明烧香得罪耶和华，不听从祂的话，不遵行祂的律法、诫命和教诲。”

“然而，他们不顺从你，背叛你，把你的律法抛在背后，又杀掉劝诫他们归向你的众先知，大大亵渎了你。

那些制造它们、信靠它们的人也会和它们一样。

效法耶和华在他们面前赶走的外族人的风俗和以色列诸王奉行的习俗。

要谨遵你们的上帝耶和华吩咐你们的诫命、法度和律例。你们要做耶和华视为正与善的事，以便你们可以凡事顺利，得到耶和华起誓赐给你们祖先的佳美之地，

他做耶和华视为恶的事，效法耶和华在以色列人面前赶走的外族人的可憎行径。

玛拿西诱使犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民作恶，比耶和华在以色列人面前所毁灭的各族更严重。

他们都愚昧无知，毫无用处的木制偶像能教导他们什么呢？

他们祖先的上帝耶和华因为怜爱祂的子民和祂的居所，就不断派使者来劝告他们。他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

必有人回答说，‘因为这地方的人背弃了他们祖先的上帝耶和华领他们出埃及时与他们所立的约，去供奉、祭拜他们所不认识、并非耶和华所分派的神明。

耶稣又说：“现在可以舀些出来，送给宴席总管。”他们就送了去。
