Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God.

所羅門年老的時候，他的妻妾誘惑他的心去隨從別神，不像他父親大衛以純正的心順服耶和華－他的神。所羅門隨從西頓人的女神亞斯她錄和亞捫人可憎的米勒公。所羅門行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，不像他父親大衛專心順從耶和華。那時，所羅門為摩押可憎的基抹和亞捫人可憎的摩洛，在耶路撒冷對面的山上建造丘壇。他為所有的妻妾，就是那些向自己神明燒香獻祭的外邦女子，也是這樣做。

亞比央行他父親從前所犯一切的罪，他的心不像他曾祖父大衛以純正的心順服耶和華－他的神。
