Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God.

所罗门年老的时候，他的妃嫔诱惑他的心去随从别神，不效法他父亲大卫诚诚实实地顺服耶和华他的神。因为所罗门随从西顿人的女神亚斯他录和亚扪人可憎的神米勒公。所罗门行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，不效法他父亲大卫专心顺从耶和华。所罗门为摩押可憎的神基抹和亚扪人可憎的神摩洛，在耶路撒冷对面的山上建筑邱坛。他为那些向自己的神烧香献祭的外邦女子，就是他娶来的妃嫔也是这样行。

亚比央行他父亲在他以前所行的一切恶，他的心不像他祖大卫的心，诚诚实实地顺服耶和华他的神。

约坦行耶和华眼中看为正的事，效法他父亲乌西雅一切所行的；

希西家行耶和华眼中看为正的事，效法他祖大卫一切所行的。

约西亚行耶和华眼中看为正的事，行他祖大卫一切所行的，不偏左右。

耶和华与约沙法同在；因为他行他祖大卫初行的道，不寻求巴力，

希西家行耶和华眼中看为正的事，效法他祖大卫一切所行的。

你若效法你父亲大卫，遵行我的道，谨守我的律例、诫命，我必使你长寿。”
