Amaziah, however, would not listen, so Jehoash king of Israel attacked. He and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah wouldn’t listen. So Jehoash, the king of Israel, attacked. He and Amaziah, the king of Judah, faced each other in battle. The battle took place at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

爾當試觀、如車直往其境、向伯示麥而上、降此大災於我者乃彼也、否則可知災非彼降於我、原文作擊我者非彼之手乃我偶然遇之、非利士人如言而行、取方字之牝牛二、繫之於車、禁犢於室、以主之匱、與盛金鼠及痔形之匣、悉載於車、牛由一道直往伯示麥、且行且鳴、不偏於左、不偏於右、非利士人之諸伯隨於後、直至伯示麥界、伯示麥人適在谷中在谷中或作在平原刈麥、舉目而觀、見匱則喜、車至伯示麥人約書亞田而止、在彼有巨石、人析其車為柴、以二牛獻於主為火焚祭、利未人取主之匱與藏金物物原文作器之匣、自車而下、置於巨石、當日伯示麥人獻火焚祭及平安祭於主、非利士人之五伯見之、遂於是日歸以革倫、非利士人獻金痔於主、為贖愆之祭者、其數如左、一為亞實突、一為迦薩、一為亞實基倫、一為迦特、一為以革倫、金鼠循非利士人諸邑之數、即屬其五伯者、自保障之邑以及鄉里、直至亞比勒巨石、此石即置主匱之石、在伯示麥人約書亞田間、至今尚存、伯示麥人窺主之匱、主擊其民五萬有七十人、或作主擊其民七十人有五萬人在彼因主大戮於民中、民則哀哭、

其界自巴拉轉西、向西珥山、至耶琳山之北、耶琳山即基撒倫、下至伯示麥、由此至亭拿、

先知與王言時、王曰、誰立爾為王之謀士、爾止哉、不然、爾必見撻、先知乃止、既而曰、爾行斯事、不聽我言、我知天主決意欲敗爾、○
