儘約哈斯在位的年日，亞蘭王哈薛總是壓迫着以色列人。

約哈斯的兒子約阿施從哈薛的兒子便哈達手裏將哈薛在戰爭時從約阿施父親約哈斯手裏所取的城市再收回來。約阿施將便哈達擊敗了三次，就把以色列的城市收回了來。

耶羅波安收回了以色列邊界之地，從哈馬口直到亞拉巴海，正如永恆主以色列之上帝的話，他由他僕人迦特希弗人亞米太的兒子神言人約拿經手所說的；
