末了，弟兄們，凡是真誠的、莊重的、凡是正義的、清潔的、凡是可愛的、有美名的：若有甚麼美德、甚麼可稱讚之事——你們都要思念。

他行永恆主所看為壞的事，只是不像他父親，也不像他母親，因為他除掉了他父親所造的巴力柱像。

難道要說：「讓我們作惡，使善來到」麼？（這是我們所受的毁謗；有人說我們曾說了這話）：這樣辯論的人之受定罪、是該當的。

你們要為上帝說不義的話麼？要為他說詭詐的話語麼？

以利亞對他們說：『將巴力的神言人捉住；一個也不可讓逃脫。』眾人就把他們捉住；以利亞將他們帶下去到基順谿谷中，在那裏把他們宰殺掉。

現在你要差遣人集合以色列人、和巴力的神言人四百五十個、以及亞舍拉的神言人四百個、都上迦密山去見我。』

以利亞對眾民說：『永恆主的神言人只剩下我一個；巴力的神言人卻有四百五十個。
