耶户遇见犹大王亚哈谢的兄弟，说：“你们是谁？”他们说：“我们是亚哈谢的兄弟，现在下去要向王和太后的众儿子问安。”

he met some relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and asked,“ Who are you?” They said,“ We are relatives of Ahaziah, and we have come down to greet the families of the king and of the queen mother.”

he saw some people. They were relatives of Ahaziah, the king of Judah. Jehu asked them,“ Who are you?” They said,“ We are Ahaziah’s relatives. We’ve come down to visit the families of the king and of his mother.”

Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah, and he said,“ Who are you?” And they answered,“ We are the relatives of Ahaziah, and we came down to visit the royal princes and the sons of the queen mother.”

he met some relatives of King Ahaziah of Judah.“ Who are you?” he asked them. And they replied,“ We are relatives of King Ahaziah. We are going to visit the sons of King Ahab and the sons of the queen mother.”

Jehu met the relatives of King Ahaziah of Judah and asked,“ Who are you?” They answered,“ We’re Ahaziah’s relatives. We’ve come down to greet the king’s sons and the queen mother’s sons.”

Jehu encountered the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah, and he said,“ Who are you?” And they answered,“ We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother.”

Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said,“ Who are you?” So they answered,“ We are the brothers of Ahaziah; we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother.”

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah: and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

約蘭王返回耶斯列去醫治他在拉末跟亞蘭王哈薛交戰時亞蘭人所給他的擊傷。猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝因為亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下耶斯列去看望他。

約蘭跟他列祖一同長眠，埋葬在大衛城裏，和他列祖同在一處；他兒子亞哈謝接替他作王。

他們上來攻擊猶大，闖進境內，擄掠了王宮所有的財物，以及他的兒女、妻子；除了他的小兒子約哈斯之外、沒有給他剩下一個兒子。

耶路撒冷的居民立了約蘭的小兒子亞哈謝接替他作王；因為那些跟亞拉伯人來攻營的遊擊隊曾經將亞哈謝的兄長們殺掉了。這樣、猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝、就作了王。亞哈謝登極的時候四十二歲；他在耶路撒冷作王有一年。他母親名叫亞他利雅，是暗利的孫女。亞哈謝也走亞哈家所走的路，因為他母親給他主謀、使他行惡。他行了永恆主所看為壞的事，因為他父親死了以後、有亞哈家的人給他主謀，以致他敗壞。他竟實行了亞哈家的主謀，同以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭往基列的拉末去、跟亞蘭王哈薛交戰；亞蘭人擊傷了約蘭。約蘭回到耶斯列去醫治他在拉末跟亞蘭王哈薛交戰時亞蘭人所給他的擊傷。猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝因為亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下到耶斯列去看望他。亞哈謝去訪問約蘭，因而招致了敗亡，這是出於上帝的；因為他到了就同約蘭出去攻打寧示的孫子耶戶；這耶戶是永恆主所膏立、使他剪滅亞哈家的。耶戶討伐亞哈家的罪時候，遇見了猶大的首領們和亞哈謝的族弟兄們的兒子、那些伺候亞哈謝的，耶戶就把他們都殺了。亞哈謝藏匿在撒瑪利亞地；耶戶尋找他；人將他捉住，送到耶戶那裏去殺他。他們將他埋葬了，因為他們說：『他是約沙法的孫子：約沙法又是全心尋求永恆主的。』這樣、亞哈謝的家就沒有能保持國權的了。亞哈謝的母親亞他利雅見她的兒子死了，就起來剿滅猶大家王室所有的後裔。

約蘭吩咐說：『套車』；人就給他套車。以色列王約蘭和猶大王亞哈謝、各坐自己的車、出去迎接耶戶，就在耶斯列人拿伯那段田地遇見了他。約蘭一見耶戶、就說：『耶戶啊，平安麼？』耶戶說：『甚麼呀？你母親耶洗別的淫行和邪術這麼多、還有平安麼？』約蘭就旋轉車手而逃跑，對亞哈謝說：『亞哈謝啊，反了！』耶戶用滿了手力而開弓，射中了約蘭兩肩膀之間；箭從心窩穿出，約蘭就屈身、仆倒在車上。耶戶對軍官畢甲說：『把他背起來，丟在耶斯列人拿伯的田間；你追想追想；你我一同坐車跟隨他父親亞哈的時候、永恆主怎樣發出這神諭針對着亞哈，說：「永恆主發神諭說：『我一定在這地段報應你，正如我昨日才看見拿伯的血和他兒子們的血一樣；』這是永恆主發神諭說的。」所以現在你要把他背起來，丟在這地段，照永恆主所說的。』猶大王亞哈謝見這光景，就沿伯哈干路向逃跑。耶戶追趕他說：『把這人也擊殺』；就有人把他擊傷在車上，在靠近以伯蓮的姑珥之山坡上。他逃跑到米吉多，就死在那裏。
