Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. And he went up to him, and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. And he said to him,“ You man of God, the king says,‘ Come down.’ ”

Then he sent to Elijah a captain with his company of fifty men. The captain went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him,“ Man of God, the king says,‘ Come down!’”

Then Ahaziah sent a captain to Elijah. The captain had his group of 50 fighting men with him. Elijah was sitting on top of a hill. The captain went up to him. He said to Elijah,“ Man of God, the king says,‘ Come down!’ ”

Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty men with his fifty. He went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him,“ O man of God, the king says,‘ Come down.’”

Then he sent an army captain with fifty soldiers to arrest him. They found him sitting on top of a hill. The captain said to him,“ Man of God, the king has commanded you to come down with us.”

So King Ahaziah sent a captain with his fifty men to Elijah. When the captain went up to him, he was sitting on top of the hill. He announced,“ Man of God, the king declares,‘ Come down!’”

The king sent a captain and his fifty soldiers to retrieve Elijah. The captain went up to him, while he was sitting on the top of a hill. He told him,“ Prophet, the king says,‘ Come down!’”

Then the king sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him,“ Man of God, the king has said,‘ Come down!’”

So he said,“ Go and see where he is, so that I may send men and take him.” And it was told to him, saying,“ Behold, he is in Dothan.”So he sent horses and chariots and a substantial army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city.

Then Amaziah said to Amos,“ Go, you seer, flee to the land of Judah; and eat bread there and do your prophesying there!

Those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, shaking their heads and saying,“ Ha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,“ There is still one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, but I hate him, because he does not prophesy anything good regarding me, but only bad. He is Micaiah the son of Imlah.” But Jehoshaphat said,“ May the king not say so.”

for when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave, and provided them with bread and water.)

and others experienced mocking and flogging, and further, chains and imprisonment.

Let this Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” Those who were crucified with Him were also insulting Him.

and said,“ Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is the one who hit You?”

Then the king of Israel said,“ Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;and say,‘ This is what the king says:“ Put this man in prison, and feed him enough bread and water to survive until I return safely.” ’ ”

But they themselves were filled with senseless rage, and began discussing together what they might do to Jesus.Now it was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer with God.

In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying,“ He saved others; He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.He has trusted in God; let God rescue Him now, if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’ ”

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ So may the gods do to me and more so, if by about this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the life of one of them.”

And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying,“ Hail, King of the Jews!”

For when Herod had John arrested, he bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.

So Ahab went up to eat and drink. But Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bent down to the earth and put his face between his knees.

As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom to which my master has not sent word to search for you; and whenever they say,‘ He is not here,’ he makes the kingdom or nation swear that they could not find you.
