我哀痛迫切、流淚不勝、以書達爾、非欲使爾憂、乃欲使爾知我愛爾甚也、若有人使人憂、不但使我憂、亦畧使爾眾憂、我不欲深責之、

我書此、非欲愧爾、乃欲勸爾、如我之愛子、爾於基督雖有萬師、無有多父、蓋我以福音生爾於耶穌基督、

雖我愈愛爾、愈不見爾愛我、我仍為爾靈魂、甘於費財盡己、

我儕如是戀慕爾、願賜爾不第以天主之福音、乃以己之生命、因爾為我儕所愛也、
