雖似無聞、而實則闇然日章也；雖似將死、而實則生氣蓬勃也；雖似受刑、而實則真我無恙也；

known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;

We are known, but people treat us as if we were unknown. We are dying, but we continue to live. We are beaten, but we are not killed.

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed;

We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed.

as unknown, yet recognized; as dying, yet see— we live; as being disciplined, yet not killed;

as unknown and yet well known, as dying and yet behold, we are alive; as punished and yet not put to death,

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

as unknown yet recognized; as dying and look— we live; as being disciplined yet not killed;

As unknown, and[ yet] well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and not killed;

always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body.For we who are alive are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our mortal body.

For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to die, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to people.

As it is written,“ For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, regarding the affliction that happened to us in the province of Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of living.Indeed we felt as if the sentence of death had been passed against us, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.He delivered us from so great a risk of death, and he will deliver us. We have set our hope on him that he will deliver us yet again,

And even if I am unskilled in speaking, yet I am certainly not so in knowledge. Indeed, we have made this plain to you in everything in every way.

But I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after this preliminary hearing I may have something to write.

But we have rejected shameful hidden deeds, not behaving with deceptiveness or distorting the word of God, but by open proclamation of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience before God.

And you see and hear that this Paul has persuaded and turned away a large crowd, not only in Ephesus but in practically all of the province of Asia, by saying that gods made by hands are not gods at all.

in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem even as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

Rather they had several points of disagreement with him about their own religion and about a man named Jesus who was dead, whom Paul claimed to be alive.

Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we are well known to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

But I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.They were only hearing,“ The one who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of the faith he once tried to destroy.”So they glorified God because of me.

While they were staying there many days, Festus explained Paul’s case to the king to get his opinion, saying,“ There is a man left here as a prisoner by Felix.When I was in Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me about him, asking for a sentence of condemnation against him.

Every day I am in danger of death! This is as sure as my boasting in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him, and some were asking,“ What does this foolish babbler want to say?” Others said,“ He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods.”( They said this because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)

I will not die, but live, and I will proclaim what the LORD has done.The LORD severely punished me, but he did not hand me over to death.

As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the commanding officer,“ May I say something to you?” The officer replied,“ Do you know Greek?Then you’re not that Egyptian who started a rebellion and led the four thousand men of the‘ Assassins’ into the wilderness some time ago?”

But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned with the world.
