We do not give anyone an occasion for taking an offense in anything, so that no fault may be found with our ministry.

我们凡事都不叫人有妨碍，免得这职分被人毁谤；

我们不在任何事上妨碍任何人，免得这使命被人毁谤；

我们不在任何事上妨碍任何人，免得这使命被人毁谤；

为了避免有人毁谤我们的职分，我们凡事尽量不妨碍别人，

我们凡事都没有妨碍人，不让这职分受到毁谤，

我们不在任何事上给任何人跌倒的借口，免得这服事的工作被人挑剔；

我們凡事都不叫人有妨礙，免得這職分被人毀謗；

我們不在任何事上妨礙任何人，免得這使命被人毀謗；

我們不在任何事上妨礙任何人，免得這使命被人毀謗；

為了避免有人毀謗我們的職分，我們凡事儘量不妨礙別人，

我們凡事都沒有妨礙人，不讓這職分受到毀謗，

在任何事上、對任何人、我們都沒有引起碰倒人的因由，免得這執事的職分受挑剔。

我們不在任何事上給任何人跌倒的藉口，免得這服事的工作被人挑剔；

我概不礙人、免我職受謗、

吾儕不窒礙人、恐吾職受謗、

我儕凡事不使人躓礙、恐我之職受謗、

蓋吾儕之所以小心翼翼、不敢稍樹梗障者亦欲不辱使命而已。

We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.

We don’t put anything in anyone’s way. So no one can find fault with our work for God.

We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,

We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.

We are not giving anyone an occasion for offense, so that the ministry will not be blamed.

giving no reason for taking offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.

giving no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our ministration be not blamed;

We give no opportunity for stumbling to anyone, so that the ministry will not be blamed.

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,

Therefore we must not pass judgment on one another, but rather determine never to place an obstacle or a trap before a brother or sister.

If others receive this right from you, are we not more deserving? But we have not made use of this right. Instead we endure everything so that we may not be a hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

But so that we don’t offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. Take that and give it to them for me and you.”

Do not give offense to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God,just as I also try to please everyone in all things. I do not seek my own benefit, but the benefit of many, so that they may be saved.

To the weak I became weak in order to gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I may save some.

We did this as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

“ Everything is lawful,” but not everything is beneficial.“ Everything is lawful,” but not everything builds others up.Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person.

“ But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the open sea.

For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God– not by human wisdom but by the grace of God– we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

But be careful that this liberty of yours does not become a hindrance to the weak.For if someone weak sees you who possess knowledge dining in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience be“ strengthened” to eat food offered to idols?So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed.If you sin against your brothers or sisters in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them to sin.
