Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.Therefore do not be partakers with them.For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light( for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.Therefore He says:“ Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

“ You shall not sow your vineyard with different kinds of seed, lest the yield of the seed which you have sown and the fruit of your vineyard be defiled.“ You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.“ You shall not wear a garment of different sorts, such as wool and linen mixed together.

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

‘ You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies.

I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites.I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked.

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.But you have not so learned Christ,

And Elijah came to all the people, and said,“ How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.

“ If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

and when the Lord your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son.

But they mingled with the Gentiles And learned their works;

Judah has dealt treacherously, And an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, For Judah has profaned The LORD’s holy institution which He loves: He has married the daughter of a foreign god.

Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go,

I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people.

that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts.

that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles— when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.

An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.

which You commanded by Your servants the prophets, saying,‘ The land which you are entering to possess is an unclean land, with the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations which have filled it from one end to another with their impurity.Now therefore, do not give your daughters as wives for their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons; and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.’

The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

When these things were done, the leaders came to me, saying,“ The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, with respect to the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this trespass.”

And they gave their promise that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they presented a ram of the flock as their trespass offering.

A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

As for the saints who are on the earth,“ They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”

But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.

and you take of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters play the harlot with their gods and make your sons play the harlot with their gods.

On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people, and in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever come into the assembly of God,because they had not met the children of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.So it was, when they had heard the Law, that they separated all the mixed multitude from Israel.

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon.And when the people of Ashdod arose early in the morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set it in its place again.

If we had forgotten the name of our God, Or stretched out our hands to a foreign god,Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure.

Do not gather my soul with sinners, Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,In whose hands is a sinister scheme, And whose right hand is full of bribes.

And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness.My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, And my revenue than choice silver.

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat,“ Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.

In those days I also saw Jews who had married women of Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab.And half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod, and could not speak the language of Judah, but spoke according to the language of one or the other people.So I contended with them and cursed them, struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and made them swear by God, saying,“ You shall not give your daughters as wives to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons or yourselves.Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations there was no king like him, who was beloved of his God; and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless pagan women caused even him to sin.
