吾人豈復自薦乎？亦欲使爾等於吾人之誠、有所稱道、而對於一般只重外貌、不貴內心者、知所答覆耳。

We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

凡欲以形軀矜飾者、強爾受割、特恐為基督之十架受窘逐耳、蓋彼受割者、己不守律、惟欲爾受割、致彼因爾形軀而誇、然我無所誇、惟誇我主耶穌基督之十架耳、由是世於我已釘十架、我於世亦然、

我自誇固無益、不得已也、惟言主之顯象啟示耳、我識一人宗基督者、十四年前、見攝至三重天、或於身、或不於身、我不知、上帝知之、又知若人見攝至樂園、聞莫能言之言、人所不宜道者、或於身、或不於身、我不知、上帝知之、

主賜我權、乃建爾、非覆爾、我雖過誇、亦無所愧焉、

惟諸事自薦為上帝役、有若恆忍、患難、空乏、阨窮、

有自譽者、我不敢與之匹、與之較、其人自相度、自相較、不智也、

任他人揄揚爾、勿用己口、由外人稱讚爾、勿用己脣、

我為愚矣、緣爾逼我、蓋我當為爾所舉、我雖不足數、而不亞於至大使徒、

蓋見納者非自譽、乃主所譽也、
