We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

We are not trying to make an appeal to you again. But we are giving you a chance to take pride in us. Some people take pride in their looks rather than what’s in their hearts. If you take pride in us, you will be able to answer them.

We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart.

Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart.

正如你们对我们已经有些认识，我盼望你们可以彻底明白：在我们的主耶稣的日子，我们是你们的光荣，你们也是我们的光荣。

我现在所作的，将来还要作，为了要断绝那些投机分子的机会，不让他们在所夸的事上，被人认为是跟我们一样的。这样的人是假使徒，是诡诈的工人，装成基督的使徒。这并不希奇，因为撒但自己也装作光明的天使，所以，撒但的仆役装成公义的仆役，也不必大惊小怪。他们的结局必按他们所作的而定。我再说，谁也不要以为我是愚昧的；就算这样，也要接纳我这个愚昧的人，使我可以稍微地夸口。

那些在外表上要体面的人，他们勉强你们受割礼，不过是怕为了基督的十字架受迫害。那些受割礼的人，自己也不遵守律法，反而要你们受割礼，为的是要藉着你们的肉身夸口。至于我，我绝不以别的夸口，只夸我们主耶稣基督的十字架。藉着这十字架，在我来说，世界已经钉在十字架上了；就世界来说，我也已经钉在十字架上了。

夸口固然无益，却也是必要的。现在我要说说主的异象和启示。我认识一个在基督里的人，他十四年前被提到第三层天上去。（是带着身体被提的呢？我不知道，是离开了身体呢？我也不知道，只有神知道。）我认识这个人，（是带着身体被提，还是在身体以外被提，我都不知道，只有神知道。）他被提到乐园里去，听见了难以言喻的话，那是人不可以说的。为了这个人，我要夸口，但为了我自己，除了我的软弱以外，我没有可夸的。即使我想夸口，也不算愚妄，因为我要说的是真话。但我闭口不提，免得有人把我看得太高，过于他在我身上所见所闻的。又因为我所得的启示太大，恐怕会高抬自己，所以就有一根刺加在我的身上，就是撒但的差役来攻击我，免得我高抬自己。为了这事，我曾经三次求主，使这根刺离开我。他却对我说：“我的恩典是够你用的，因为我的能力在人的软弱上显得完全。”所以，我更喜欢夸自己的软弱，好让基督的能力临到我的身上。

主把权柄赐给我们，是为了要造就你们，不是要破坏你们，就算我为这权柄夸口过分了一点，也不会觉得惭愧。

反而在各样的事上，表明自己是神的仆人，就如持久的忍耐、患难、贫乏、困苦、

我们不敢和那些自我推荐的人相提并论；他们拿自己来量自己，拿自己来比自己，实在不大聪明。

让外人夸奖你，不可自己夸奖自己；让别人称赞你，不可自己称赞自己。

我成了愚妄的人，是你们逼成的。其实你们应该称赞我，因为我虽然算不得什么，却没有一点比不上那些“超等使徒”。

因为蒙悦纳的，不是自我推荐的人，而是主所推荐的人。
