We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

我现在所做的，将来还会继续做下去，为了要断绝那些投机分子的机会，使他们无法吹嘘自己的职分与我们一样。其实这些人是假使徒，为人诡诈，冒充基督的使徒。这不足为奇，因为连撒旦都装成光明的天使，它的爪牙若冒充公义的仆人，又何足为奇呢？他们最终必得到应得的报应。我再说，谁也别把我当作傻瓜。如果你们真的当我是傻瓜，就把我当傻瓜看待吧！好让我也能说几句自夸的话。

那些勉强你们接受割礼的人只不过是做表面工夫，想讨好别人，避免为基督的十字架受迫害。那些接受割礼的人自己也不能遵行律法。他们要你们接受割礼，无非是想借着你们的肉体夸耀。至于我自己，我绝不夸耀别的，只夸耀我们主耶稣基督的十字架。因为对我来说，世上的一切都已经被钉在十字架上；对这世界来说，我已经被钉在十字架上。

自夸虽然无益，但我不得不继续夸下去，谈谈主给我的异象和启示。我知道一位基督徒在十四年前曾被提到第三层天上，是在肉身之内还是在肉身之外，我不知道，只有上帝知道。我认识这个人，是在肉身之内还是在肉身之外，我不知道，只有上帝知道。他曾被提到天上的乐园里，听见了人不可以言传的隐秘事。我要为这人夸口。至于我自己，我除了夸耀自己的软弱以外，别无可夸。就算我夸口，也不算狂妄，因为我所说的都是实话。只是我不会这样做，恐怕有人把我看得太高，超过了他对我的所见所闻。为了使我不至于因所受的启示太大而自高，有一根“刺”在我身上，就是有撒旦的爪牙攻击我，免得我骄傲自大。我曾三次祈求主叫这根刺离开我，但祂说：“我的恩典足够你用，因为我的能力在人的软弱上更显得全备。”所以，我更喜欢夸耀自己的软弱，好让基督的能力荫庇我。

因为主赐给我们权柄是为了造就你们，不是为了毁坏你们，就算我为这权柄稍微夸口，也不会感到羞愧。

反倒在任何事上都显明自己是上帝的仆人。不论遭遇什么患难、艰苦、贫穷、

我们不敢和那些自我推荐的人相提并论！他们以自己的尺度衡量自己，自我比较，实在不明智！

让别人夸奖你，不要开口自夸；让外人称赞你，不要自吹自擂。

我成了“傻瓜”是被你们逼的！你们本该称许我才对。我虽然算不了什么，却没有一点比不上那些“超级使徒”。

因为，蒙悦纳的是主所称许的人，而不是自我称许的人。
