Now if the ministry that brought death, chiseled in letters on stones, came with glory, so that the Israelites were not able to gaze steadily at Moses’s face because of its glory, which was set aside,

如果那以文字刻在石上使人死的律法的工作，尚且带有荣光，以致以色列人因着摩西脸上短暂的荣光，不能注视他的脸，

如果，那以条文刻在石版上、属死亡的服事工作尚且带有荣光——以致以色列子民因为摩西脸上那渐渐消失的荣光，不能注视他的脸——

那用字刻在石頭上屬死的職事尚且有榮光，甚至以色列人因摩西面上的榮光，不能定睛看他的臉；這榮光原是漸漸退去的，

那用字刻在石頭上屬死的事奉尚且有榮光，以致以色列人因摩西臉上那逐漸褪色的榮光不能定睛看他的臉，

這最終帶來死亡、刻在石版上的律法條文的事工尚且有榮耀，甚至使摩西的臉上發出榮光，儘管很快就消逝了，以色列人仍然無法定睛看他，

如果那以文字刻在石上使人死的律法的工作，尚且帶有榮光，以致以色列人因著摩西臉上短暫的榮光，不能注視他的臉，

那屬致死職事的制度、用文字刻在石頭上的、尚且帶着榮光而立，甚至以色列人、因摩西臉上的榮光（雖那榮光漸漸消逝）、人也不能定睛看他的臉，

如果，那以條文刻在石版上、屬死亡的服事工作尚且帶有榮光——以致以色列子民因為摩西臉上那漸漸消失的榮光，不能注視他的臉——

夫致死之役、文鐫諸石、尚以榮而成、因摩西之榮、以色列人不能注視其面、此榮乃暫耳、

昔摩西面暫榮、以色列人不能注目視彼、夫以舊典致死之法鐫諸石、其榮且如此、

昔摩西之面有榮、其榮雖暫而將廢、以色列人不能注目觀之、致死之儀文、鐫於石版者、其役尚有此榮、

夫以肅殺之文字、勒之於石、供其役者、且有盛極一時之殊榮、甚至摩西面上光采煥發、非義塞子孫所得而直視焉；

Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was,

The Law was written in letters on stone. Even though it was a way of serving God, it led to death. But even that way of serving God came with glory. The glory lasted for only a short time. Even so, the people of Israel couldn’t look at Moses’ face very long.

Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end,

The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away.

But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones, came with glory so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away,

But if the ministration of death, written, and engraven on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look stedfastly upon the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which glory was passing away:

Now if the ministry of death, chiseled in letters on stones, came with glory, so that the Israelites were not able to look directly at Moses’ face because of the glory from his face— a fading glory—

But if the ministration of death, written[ and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which[ glory] was to be done away:

But if the ministry that produced death– carved in letters on stone tablets– came with glory, so that the Israelites could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face( a glory which was made ineffective),

But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away,

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes,

For if the ministry that brought condemnation had glory, the ministry that brings righteousness overflows with even more glory.In fact, what had been glorious is not glorious now by comparison because of the glory that surpasses it.For if what was set aside was glorious, what endures will be even more glorious.

but when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end.

You show that you are Christ’s letter, delivered by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God— not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

The LORD said to Moses,“ Come up to me on the mountain and stay there so that I may give you the stone tablets with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”

When he finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets inscribed by the finger of God.

and I died. The commandment that was meant for life resulted in death for me.

As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white.Suddenly, two men were talking with him— Moses and Elijah.They appeared in glory and were speaking of his departure, which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.

because the law produces wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.

And all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

“ The LORD said to me at that time,‘ Cut two stone tablets like the first ones and come to me on the mountain and make a wooden ark.I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets you broke, and you are to place them in the ark.’So I made an ark of acacia wood, cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and climbed the mountain with the two tablets in my hand.Then on the day of the assembly, the LORD wrote on the tablets what had been written previously, the Ten Commandments that he had spoken to you on the mountain from the fire. The LORD gave them to me,

He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

“ So I went back down the mountain, while it was blazing with fire, and the two tablets of the covenant were in my hands.

For in my inner self I delight in God’s law,

Then Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides— inscribed front and back.The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was God’s writing, engraved on the tablets.

He declared his covenant to you. He commanded you to follow the Ten Commandments, which he wrote on two stone tablets.

As he approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses became enraged and threw the tablets out of his hands, smashing them at the base of the mountain.

The LORD God made clothing from skins for the man and his wife, and he clothed them.

So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.Therefore, did what is good become death to me? Absolutely not! But sin, in order to be recognized as sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment, sin might become sinful beyond measure.For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold as a slave under sin.

When I went up the mountain to receive the stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant the LORD made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I did not eat food or drink water.On the day of the assembly the LORD gave me the two stone tablets, inscribed by God’s finger. The exact words were on them, which the LORD spoke to you from the fire on the mountain.The LORD gave me the two stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant, at the end of the forty days and forty nights.

Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did not eat food or drink water. He wrote the Ten Commandments, the words of the covenant, on the tablets.As Moses descended from Mount Sinai— with the two tablets of the testimony in his hands as he descended the mountain— he did not realize that the skin of his face shone as a result of his speaking with the LORD.When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face shone! They were afraid to come near him.But Moses called out to them, so Aaron and all the leaders of the community returned to him, and Moses spoke to them.Afterward all the Israelites came near, and he commanded them to do everything the LORD had told him on Mount Sinai.When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.But whenever Moses went before the LORD to speak with him, he would remove the veil until he came out. After he came out, he would tell the Israelites what he had been commanded,and the Israelites would see that Moses’s face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil over his face again until he went to speak with the LORD.

The LORD said to Moses,“ Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

How I love your instruction! It is my meditation all day long.

We are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from gazing steadily until the end of the glory of what was being set aside,but their minds were hardened. For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant, the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ.

I long for your salvation, LORD, and your instruction is my delight.

The instruction of the LORD is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise.The precepts of the LORD are right, making the heart glad; the command of the LORD is radiant, making the eyes light up.

It had the gold altar of incense and the ark of the covenant, covered with gold on all sides, in which was a gold jar containing the manna, Aaron’s staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.

You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke to them from heaven. You gave them impartial ordinances, reliable instructions, and good statutes and commands.

And what great nation has righteous statutes and ordinances like this entire law I set before you today?

“ The LORD spoke these commands in a loud voice to your entire assembly from the fire, cloud, and total darkness on the mountain; he added nothing more. He wrote them on two stone tablets and gave them to me.

Since I love your commands more than gold, even the purest gold,I carefully follow all your precepts and hate every false way.
