We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.

We are not like Moses. He used to cover his face with a veil. That was to keep the people of Israel from seeing the end of what was passing away.

如果，那以條文刻在石版上、屬死亡的服事工作尚且帶有榮光——以致以色列子民因為摩西臉上那漸漸消失的榮光，不能注視他的臉——

因為他自己是我們的和平，他使兩者合而為一，廢除了那隔在中間仇恨的牆；以自己的身體，廢除了諭令中誡命的律法，為了把兩者在他自己裡面造成一個新人，締造和平。

這些不過是將來之事的影子，而實體卻屬於基督。

只是在這信仰臨到之前，我們都被圈在律法之下受看守，直到這將要來臨的信仰被啟示出來。這樣，律法一向是我們的導師，直到基督，好使我們能因信稱義。

事實上，基督是律法的終結，使所有相信的人都以致稱義。

既然律法帶有那將要來的美好事物的影子，它不是那些事物的本像，就絕不能藉著年年不斷地獻上同樣的祭物，使近前來的人得以完全。否則，事奉的人因為一次性地被潔淨，不再覺得有罪孽，難道不早就停止獻祭了嗎？然而這些祭物使人年年都想起罪孽來，因為公牛和山羊的血，不可能把罪孽除去。所以，基督進入世界的時候，他說：「神哪，祭物和供物不是你所希望的；你為我預備了一個身體。燔祭和贖罪祭不是你所喜悅的；於是我說：『看哪，我來了！關於我的事，經卷上已經記載了。神哪，我來是要遵行你的旨意！』」上文說：祭物、供物、燔祭和贖罪祭不是你所希望的，也不是你所喜悅的，儘管這些都是照著律法獻上的；接著又說：「看哪，我來了！是要遵行你的旨意！」神廢除前者，是為了確立後者。
