余勸一兄弟偕提多往、提多取爾財乎、吾眾非一心而步亦步乎、

我請提多就爾、又求一弟偕之、提多曾得爾財乎、我眾非同一心乎、非同一跡而行乎、○

我曾慫恿提多至爾處、並遣發一兄弟與之偕、提多曾佔爾便宜乎？吾儕豈非表裏如一、心跡雙清者乎。

I urged Titus to visit you and I sent our brother along with him. Titus did not take advantage of you, did he? Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit? Did we not behave in the same way?

So we urged Titus, that as he had made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.

He is the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.

Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.

But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known throughout all the assemblies.Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.

Moses was very angry, and said to Yahweh,“ Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.”

Here I am. Witness against me before Yahweh, and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Of whose hand have I taken a bribe to make me blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”They said,“ You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything from anyone’s hand.”

I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Now when I came to Troas for the Good News of Christ, and when a door was opened to me in the Lord,I had no relief for my spirit, because I didn’t find Titus, my brother, but taking my leave of them, I went out into Macedonia.

Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.For I have no one else like- minded, who will truly care about you.For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.But you know the proof of him, that as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.

Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even to the thirty- second year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brothers have not eaten the bread of the governor.

For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
