至吾儕本人、則空無所有、不足道也。吾儕之所有皆淵源於天主。

主乃吾族王。請佑我雅谷。吾欲托主恩。掃蕩彼頑敵。吾欲奉主名。肅清彼眾逆。弓刀安足恃。惟主能救厄。

至此竟肯慨然奉獻其唯一嫡子者、亦信德之力也。蓋彼認天主為全能、即令起死回生、亦意中事；故得收回依灑格、而為後事之前影焉。

然此真光之在吾人、猶珍寶之藏於瓦器也。應知可貴者在天主之德、而不在吾人之身。

有人自矜其義、目無他人、耶穌設喻以警之曰：

且主亦恐我以受此特達之啟示、而驕矜自慢也；故容沙殫加我以肉身上之痛楚、有如芒刺之着體、蓋不欲吾之得意而忘形耳。因是吾雖曾三次求主脫吾於此苦、然主謂吾曰：『吾之聖寵、已足助爾、蓋吾德之彰、即在柔弱中也。』故吾欣然以柔弱為樂、庶幾基督之神德、能常寓吾身。吾為基督之故、凡肉體之柔弱、以及一切侮辱、艱難、窘迫、困苦、皆所甘受。蓋吾之弱、正吾之所以強也。

蓋主乃天地之宰兮。又為萬國之君。

雖然、經不云乎、『中心所信、不能不言。』吾人既具此信仰精神、亦曰中心所信、不能不言而已矣。吾人固知使耶穌復活之天主、亦必使吾人因耶穌而復活、且使我儕得與爾同立其前。
