My father David had his heart set on building a temple for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

我父大衛、有意為以色列上帝耶和華之名建室、

我父大闢欲建殿、奉事以色列族之上帝耶和華、而籲其名。

所羅門又曰、我父大衛意欲為主以色列天主之名建殿、

“ My father David had it in his heart to build a temple for the Name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

“ With all his heart my father David wanted to build a temple. He wanted to do it so the Name of the Lord could be there. The Lord is the God of Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

Then Solomon said,“ My father, David, wanted to build this Temple to honor the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of the LORD his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

“ My son,” David said to Solomon,“ It was in my heart to build a house for the name of the LORD my God,

My father David had his heart set on building a temple for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

the king said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look, I am living in a cedar house while the ark of God sits inside tent curtains.”So Nathan told the king,“ Go and do all that is on your mind, for the LORD is with you.”

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. It was in my heart to build a house as a resting place for the ark of the LORD’s covenant and as a footstool for our God. I had made preparations to build,but God said to me,‘ You are not to build a house for my name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’“ Yet the LORD God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons, he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.
