Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the Lord their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

Josiah removed all the statues of false gods from the whole territory that belonged to the Israelites. The Lord hated those statues. Josiah had everyone in Israel serve the Lord their God. As long as he lived, they didn’t fail to follow the Lord, the God of their people.

And Josiah took away all the abominations from all the territory that belonged to the people of Israel and made all who were present in Israel serve the Lord their God. All his days they did not turn away from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.

So Josiah removed all detestable idols from the entire land of Israel and required everyone to worship the Lord their God. And throughout the rest of his lifetime, they did not turn away from the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

So Josiah removed everything that was detestable from all the lands belonging to the Israelites, and he required all who were present in Israel to serve the LORD their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following the LORD, the God of their ancestors.

So Josiah removed everything that was detestable from all the lands belonging to the Israelites, and he required all who were present in Israel to serve the Lord their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.

And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that[ pertained] to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve,[ even] to serve the LORD their God.[ And] all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.

以法蓮哪，我可怎樣評斷你呢？猶大啊，我可怎樣評定你呢？你們的堅貞就如早晨的雲霧，又如早散的朝露。

王吩咐大祭司希勒家和副祭司跟把守門檻的、將那為巴力和亞舍拉女神跟天上萬象所造的器皿、都從永恆主殿堂裏搬出來，在耶路撒冷外頭汲淪谿谷的田園裏燒了，把灰燼拿到伯特利去。從前猶大諸王所立拜偶像的祭司、在猶大各城的邱壇和耶路撒冷的四圍燻祭、現在王都罷免他們；也罷免那些向巴力和日月星辰跟天上萬象燻祭的人。他又從永恆主殿裏將亞舍拉神木搬出來到耶路撒冷外頭汲淪谿谷那裏，在汲淪谿谷燒它，打碎成灰，將灰撒在平民的墳墓上。他又拆毁了永恆主殿院內男性廟倡的屋子、婦女們為亞舍拉女神編織神龕彩帳的地方。他並且從猶大各城市把眾祭司帶來，使祭司燻祭的邱壇成了凡俗、從迦巴直到別是巴；他又拆毁了野山羊神的邱壇；這邱壇在市長約書亞門的出入處，人進城門的左邊。（但是邱壇的祭司在耶路撒冷是不登永恆主祭壇的；他們只在同作祭司的弟兄中分喫無酵餅而已。）約西亞又使欣嫩子谷的陀斐特成了凡俗，不許人將兒女用火燒獻給摩洛。他又把猶大諸王獻給日頭的馬廢去，那些馬是在進永恆主之殿的地方，近內侍拿丹米勒的房屋，在聖殿遊廊的廂房那裏；他並且用火將獻給日頭的車燒掉。猶大諸王在亞哈斯房頂屋子的房頂上所築的祭壇、和瑪拿西在永恆主之殿的兩院中所築的祭壇、王都拆毁，從那裏搬走，把灰倒在汲淪谿谷中。從前以色列王所羅門在耶路撒冷東面毁滅山南邊、為西頓人可憎的神亞斯他錄、摩押人可憎的神基抹、亞捫人可厭惡的神米勒公、所建築的邱壇、王都使那些邱壇成了凡俗。他又打破崇拜柱子，把亞舍拉神木砍下來，使那地方充滿了人的骨頭。不但如此，他也將在伯特利的祭壇，和那使以色列人犯了罪的、尼八的兒子耶羅波安、所建築的邱壇，那祭壇和那邱壇約西亞都拆毁，把那邱壇打碎成灰去燒，將亞舍拉神木都燒掉。約西亞轉過臉來，看見山上那裏的墳墓，就打發人將骸骨從墳墓裏取出來，燒在祭壇上，使壇成了凡俗，正如永恆主的話、就是宣傳這些事的神人所宣傳過的。約西亞問說：『我所看見在那裏的是甚麼標記呢？』那城裏的人對他說：『那是個神人的墳墓；他先前從猶大來，將王現在向伯特利祭壇所行的事豫先宣傳出來。』約西亞說：『由他吧；人都不要挪移他的骸骨。』於是人就不去動他的骸骨，也不去動那從撒瑪利亞來的神言人的骸骨。從前以色列諸王在撒瑪利亞城市所建築的邱壇廟來惹永恆主發怒的、現在約西亞都廢去；他對這些廟宇所行的、都照他在伯特利所行的作法一樣。他又將邱壇的祭司都在祭壇上宰了，又在祭壇上燒人的骨頭，就回耶路撒冷去了。

因為所羅門隨從西頓人的女神亞斯他錄、和亞捫人可憎的神米勒公。所羅門行了永恆主所看為壞的事，不滿心滿懷地跟從永恆主、不像他父親大衛跟從永恆主那樣子。那時所羅門為摩押可憎的神基抹和亞捫人可憎的神摩洛在耶路撒冷東面的山上築了一座邱壇。

儘約書亞在世的日子、又儘那些知道永恆主為以色列人所行一切之事的長老、儘那些比約書亞後死的長老在世的日子、以色列人都是始終事奉永恆主的。

雖有這一切事，奸詐的猶大還不一心轉回來歸於我，不過是假意而已：這是永恆主發神諭說的。』
