The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So the king promised to obey the terms of the covenant that were written in that book.

And the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. He promised to obey all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll.

耶何耶大使眾民和王與自己之間立了約，要做永恆主的人民。

她一看，只見王竟照儀式站在柱旁；首領們和吹號筒的人都侍立在王左右；國中之民全都歡喜快樂，吹着號筒；亞他利雅一看見，就撕裂衣服，喊叫說：『反了！反了！』

他們入了約，要全心全意尋求永恆主他們列祖的上帝；

現在我心中有意思要和永恆主以色列的上帝立約，好使他的烈怒轉離了我們。

所羅門曾造一座銅臺，放在外院中：長五肘、寬五肘、高三肘：這時候他就站在這臺上，當着以色列全體大眾面前屈膝跪下，向天舉開雙手，

都堅持跟着他們的族弟兄貴顯人參加發咒起誓的事、要力行上帝的律法，由上帝的僕人摩西經手所傳授的，要謹守遵行永恆主我們的主的一切誡命典章律例；

他們必問到錫安的路，面向這裏，說：「來，來皈依永恆主，結個永遠的約、不能忘記的。」

基督呢、其實基督既已得了更優越的領禮拜職分，他就依這量度、做更好之約的中保了；這個約是憑着更好的應許按律法而立的。假使先前的是無可責備，就不必為一個在後的找地位了。因為上帝真地指摘他的子民說：『看吧，日子必到，主說，我必跟以色列家和猶大家立個新的約。不像我在拉着他們的手、領他們出埃及的日子、同他們列祖所立的那種約；因為他們沒有恆守我的約，我也不理他們，主說。因為那些日子以後，主說，我要同以色列家立的就是以下這種約：我要頒賜我的律法在他們心神裏，我要將那些律法寫在他們心上；我要做他們的上帝，他們要做我的子民。他們各人決不用教導自己的同國人，各人決不用教導自己的弟兄說：「你該認識主」。因為眾人都要認識我，從他們最小的到最大的；因為我要憐赦他們的不義；他們的罪、我決不再記着』。說一個新的，就已使先前的成為舊的了；並且那漸漸故舊而衰老的、就將近於滅沒了。

『今日你們眾人都在永恆主你們的上帝面前站立着：你們的族長、長老、官吏、以色列所有的男丁、你們的小孩、妻子、和你營中的寄居者，連給你撿柴的、帶給你打水的、都站立着，要進一步去守永恆主你的上帝的約、他所宣誓的約就是永恆主你的上帝今日同你所立的約；好使他今日可以立你做他的子民，而他也可以做你的上帝，照他對你所應許過的，照他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、所起誓過的。『我不單同你們立這約、宣這誓；也同今日和我們在這裏站在永恆主我們的上帝面前的、以及今日不和我們在這裏的人，立約宣誓。

第七年耶何耶大打發人去把傭兵迦利人的百夫長、和衛兵的百夫長、帶來，領他們進了永恆主的殿、到他那裏，就對他們立約，叫他們在永恆主殿裏起誓；然後將王的兒子指給他們看。

猶大眾人為了所起的誓而歡喜；因為他們全心地起誓，全意地尋求永恆主，永恆主就給他們尋見，並且使他們四境得享平靜。

你公義的典章、我曾起誓遵守；我堅定要照誓言而行。

你要全心、全意、全力愛永恆主你的上帝。

我以你的法度為我永遠的產業；因為這是我心中所喜悅的。我傾心於你的律例，步步遵行到永遠。

人君要從這門的廊子外面進入，在門框旁邊立着；祭司要供備他的燔祭和平安祭，他就在門限那裏敬拜，然後出去；這門非到傍晚總不關閉。

遵着神人摩西的律法、照規矩站在自己的地位，祭司們從利未人們手裏接過來，將血去潑祭壇。

他回答說：『要將你完全的心、你完全的性命、完全的力量、完全的精神、愛主你的上帝；也要愛你的鄰舍、如同你自己。』耶穌對他說：『你回答的正對；你這樣行，就必得永生。』那人想要自顯為對，就對耶穌說：『誰是我的鄰舍呢？』

摩西把一半的血放在盆裏，一半的血潑在祭壇上。又將約書念給人民聽；眾民說：『凡永恆主所說的、我們都要遵行。』摩西將血潑在人民身上說：『看哪，這是盟約的血：這約是永恆主依據這一切話跟你們立的。』

凡他所開辦的事工、無論是關於上帝之殿的事奉或是關於律法誡命、以便尋求他的上帝的，他都全心全意地去作，所以他都順利成功。

那一天、約書亞就和人民立約，在示劍為他們立定了律例典章。

鑑於這一切的事，我們便立了確定不移的約字，寫明了它；我們的首領、我們的利未人和祭司、都蓋了印。

這些話是盟約的話；這約是永恆主吩咐摩西在摩押地同以色列人立的，是在他同他們於何烈山所立的約之外的。
