“耶和华要带你们和你们的王到一个你们和你们祖先都不知道的国家，你们要在那里供奉木石神像。

他们若被锁链捆绑，被苦难的绳索缠住，祂就会指明他们的所作所为，让他们知道自己狂妄的罪愆。祂开启他们的耳朵，使之受教，督促他们离开罪恶。他们若听从、事奉祂，就可一生幸福，安享天年。

有些人坐在黑暗里，在死亡的阴影下，被铁链捆绑，痛苦不堪。因为他们违背上帝的话，藐视至高者的旨意，所以上帝用苦役使他们顺服，他们跌倒也无人扶助。于是，他们在患难中呼求耶和华，耶和华就拯救他们脱离困境。祂带领他们脱离黑暗和死亡的阴影，断开他们的锁链。

因为我们的罪过，这地方的丰富出产都归给了那些你派来统管我们的王。他们随意统管我们和我们的牲畜。我们生活在极大的苦难中。

你们即使依靠埃及的战车和骑兵，又怎能打败我主人的一个最小的将领呢？
