Hezekiah energetically rebuilt every broken wall. He erected towers and an outer wall, and fortified the terrace of the City of David. He made many weapons and shields.

He took courage, built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, with the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in David’s city, and made weapons and shields in abundance.

以色列王約阿施在伯．示麥捉住了約哈斯的孫子、約阿施的兒子、猶大王亞瑪謝，把他帶到耶路撒冷，又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆，從以法蓮門直到角門，共兩百公尺。

法老的女兒從大衛城搬到所羅門為她建造的宮裡以後，所羅門才重建米羅。

你們看見大衛的缺口很多，就儲存下池的水。你們又數點耶路撒冷的房屋，把房屋拆掉，用來堅固城牆。

後來大衛住在保障裡，稱保障為“大衛的城”。大衛又從米羅向裡面周圍築牆。

城終於被攻破了，所有的戰士就在夜間從靠近王的花園的兩牆中間的那門，逃跑出城。那時迦勒底人在四圍攻城；他們就往亞拉巴的方向逃走。

示劍的眾人和伯特米羅人都聚集起來，到示劍橡樹旁的望樓那裡，立亞比米勒為王。

猶大王西底家和所有的軍兵看見了他們，就逃跑，在夜間逃出城外，經過王的花園，穿過兩道城牆中間的門，直往亞拉巴的路上走去。

亞撒的兒子約沙法接續他作王；約沙法發憤圖強，對抗以色列人。他把軍隊安置在猶大的一切設防城裡，又在猶大地和他父親亞撒佔領的以法蓮各城裡駐紮防軍。

他舉手攻擊王的情形是這樣的：所羅門重建米羅，修補他父親大衛城的破口；

羅波安的王位穩定，他也強盛起來，就離棄了耶和華的律法，全體以色列人也都跟隨他。

他又在猶大各城中，除掉邱壇和香壇。那時全國在他的統治下享受太平。他又在猶大建造了幾座設防城，因為國中太平，多年沒有戰爭，耶和華使他享受安寧。他對猶大人說：“我們要建造這些城，在四周築牆，建造城樓，安設城門，製作門閂。這地還屬於我們，是因為我們尋求耶和華我們的神；我們既然尋求他，他就使我們四境平安。”於是他們興工建造，事事順利。

約阿施的臣僕起來背叛，他們在米羅宮內，他下到悉拉的時候，擊殺了他。

烏西雅給全隊軍兵配備了盾牌、矛槍、頭盔、鎧甲、弓箭和用機弦甩的石頭。他又在耶路撒冷製造巧匠發明的器械，安放在城樓和城角上，用來發射利箭和大石。烏西雅的名聲傳到遠方，因為他得了非常的幫助，使他十分強盛。

到了第七年，耶何耶大奮勇圖強，召來耶羅罕的兒子亞撒利雅、約哈難的兒子以實瑪利、俄備得的兒子亞撒利雅、亞大雅的兒子瑪西雅和細基利的兒子以利沙法等幾位百夫長，和他們立約。

亞捫人給烏西雅進貢，他的名聲傳到埃及的邊境，因為他極其強盛。
