It was Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Gihon spring and channeled the water down to the west side of the City of David. He succeeded in everything he undertook.

Hezekiah blocked up the upper opening of the Gihon spring. He directed the water to flow down to the west side of the City of David. He had success in everything he did.

This same Hezekiah closed the upper outlet of the waters of Gihon and directed them down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

He blocked up the upper spring of Gihon and brought the water down through a tunnel to the west side of the City of David. And so he succeeded in everything he did.

This same Hezekiah blocked the upper outlet of the water from the Gihon Spring and channeled it smoothly downward and westward to the city of David. Hezekiah succeeded in everything he did.

It was Hezekiah who stopped the upper outlet of the waters of Gihon and directed them to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah was successful in everything that he did.

於是有許多人集合了起來，塞住一切的泉源和通流於地中的溪河，說：『為甚麼要讓亞述諸王來、得到這許多水呢？』

你只要剛強，大大壯膽，謹慎遵行我僕人摩西所吩咐你的一切律法，不可偏於右、或偏於左，好使你無論往哪裏去都得亨通。「這律法」書不可離開你的口；你要晝夜沉思，好使你按照書上所寫的一切話謹慎遵行；因為這樣、你所行的路就會順利，這樣、你就會亨通。

希西家其餘的事，他一切勇力的事蹟、和他怎樣造池造溝，引水入城，不是都寫在《猶大諸王記》上麼？

不依惡人的計謀而行，不站在罪人的道路，不坐在褻慢人的座位，這人有福啊！他所喜愛的、是永恆主的律法，他晝夜所思想的、也是主的律法。他好像一棵樹、移植於流水溝旁，按節候結果子，其葉子總不凋殘；凡他所作的、盡都順利。

於是祭司撒督、神言人拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅、和做衛兵的基利提人比利提人都下去，使所羅門騎上大衛王的騾子，將他送到基訓。

祭司撒督和神言人拿單已經在基訓膏立了他為王；眾人都從那裏歡呼着上來；那聲音把城都震動了：這就是你們所聽見的聲音哪。

你們看見大衛城的裂口很多，便積聚着下池的水；你們數點耶路撒冷的房屋，將房屋拆毁，使城牆鞏固而不可扳；你們又在兩道城牆之間挖個積水地方，可盛舊池的水；你們卻不仰望行作這事的主，也不重視遠古以來裁定這事的。
