The king contributed from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, at the New Moons and at the appointed festivals as written in the Law of the Lord.

The king gave some of his own possessions to the temple. He gave them for the morning and evening burnt offerings. He gave them for the burnt offerings for every Sabbath day. He gave them for the burnt offerings for every New Moon feast. And he gave them for the burnt offerings for every yearly appointed feast. He did it in keeping with what is written in the Law of the Lord.

The contribution of the king from his own possessions was for the burnt offerings: the burnt offerings of morning and evening, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, the new moons, and the appointed feasts, as it is written in the Law of the Lord.

The king also made a personal contribution of animals for the daily morning and evening burnt offerings, the weekly Sabbath festivals, the monthly new moon festivals, and the annual festivals as prescribed in the Law of the Lord.

Josiah contributed to the lay people, to all who were present, flocks of lambs and young goats, all for the Passover offerings, numbering thirty thousand, plus three thousand bulls; these were from the king’s property.

Therefore, no one is to act as your judge in regard to food and drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon, or a Sabbath day—things which are only a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

“ Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, for in the month of Abib the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night.You shall sacrifice the Passover to the Lord your God from the flock and the herd, in the place where the Lord chooses to establish His name.You shall not eat leavened bread with it; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction( for you came out of the land of Egypt in a hurry), so that you will remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.For seven days no leaven shall be seen with you in your entire territory, and none of the meat which you sacrifice on the evening of the first day shall be left overnight until the morning.You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover in any of your towns which the Lord your God is giving you;but only at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name, you shall sacrifice the Passover in the evening at sunset, at the time that you came out of Egypt.You shall cook and eat it in the place which the Lord your God chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents.For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a festive assembly to the Lord your God; you shall do no work on it.“ You shall count seven weeks for yourself; you shall begin to count seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain.Then you shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with a voluntary offering of your hand in a proportional amount, which you shall give just as the Lord your God blesses you;and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and the Levite who is in your town, and the stranger, the orphan, and the widow who are in your midst, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name.You shall also remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful and comply with these statutes.“ You shall celebrate the Feast of Booths for seven days when you have gathered in from your threshing floor and your wine vat;and you shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and the Levite, the stranger, the orphan, and the widow who are in your towns.For seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.“ Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths; and they are not to appear before the Lord empty handed.Everyone shall give as he is able, in accordance with the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.

The burnt offering which the prince shall offer to the Lord on the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish;and the grain offering shall be an ephah with the ram, and the grain offering with the lambs as much as he is able to give, and a hin of oil with an ephah.On the day of the new moon he shall offer a bull without blemish, and six lambs and a ram, which shall be without blemish.And he shall provide a grain offering, an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as he is able, and a hin of oil with an ephah.

“ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations— My appointed times are these:‘ For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.‘ You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete Sabbaths.You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to the Lord.You shall bring in from your dwelling places two loaves of bread as a wave offering, made of two tenths of an ephah; they shall be of a fine flour, baked with leaven as first fruits to the Lord.Along with the bread you shall present seven one year old male lambs without defect, and a bull of the herd and two rams; they are to be a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord.You shall also offer one male goat as a sin offering, and two male lambs one year old as a sacrifice of peace offerings.The priest shall then wave them with the bread of the first fruits as a wave offering with two lambs before the Lord; they are to be holy to the Lord for the priest.On this very day you shall make a proclamation as well; you are to have a holy convocation. You shall do no laborious work. It is to be a permanent statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.‘ When you reap the harvest of your land, moreover, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field nor gather the gleaning of your harvest; you are to leave them for the needy and the stranger. I am the Lord your God.’ ”Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying,‘ In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’ ”Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble yourselves and present an offering by fire to the Lord.You shall not do any work on this very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the Lord your God.If there is any person who does not humble himself on this very day, he shall be cut off from his people.As for any person who does any work on this very day, that person I will eliminate from among his people.You shall not do any work. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening, you shall keep your Sabbath.”Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying,‘ On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the Lord.On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the Lord; it is an assembly. You shall not do any laborious work.‘ These are the appointed times of the Lord which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present offerings by fire to the Lord— burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each day’s matter on its own day—besides those of the Sabbaths of the Lord, and besides your gifts and besides all your vowed and voluntary offerings, which you give to the Lord.‘ On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day.Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and branches of trees with thick branches and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.So you shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a permanent statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.You shall live in booths for seven days; all the native born in Israel shall live in booths,so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’ ”So Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed times of the Lord.

Sing for joy to God our strength; Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob.Raise a song, strike the tambourine, The sweet sounding lyre with the harp.Blow the trumpet at the new moon, At the full moon, on our feast day.For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob.

This Shelomoth and his relatives were in charge of all the treasures of the dedicated gifts which King David and the heads of the fathers’ households, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and the commanders of the army, had dedicated.

“ Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: two one year old lambs each day, continuously.The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight;and there shall be a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a fourth of a hin of wine for a drink offering with one lamb.The other lamb you shall offer at twilight, and shall offer with it the same grain offering and the same drink offering as in the morning, for a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord.It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the doorway of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.

For Hezekiah king of Judah had contributed to the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep, and the princes had contributed to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep; and a large number of priests consecrated themselves.

And when the prince provides a voluntary offering, a burnt offering, or peace offerings as a voluntary offering to the Lord, the gate facing east shall be opened for him. And he shall provide his burnt offering and his peace offerings as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and the gate shall be shut after he goes out.“ And you shall provide a lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord daily; morning by morning you shall provide it.You shall also provide a grain offering with it morning by morning, a sixth of an ephah and a third of a hin of oil to moisten the fine flour, a grain offering to the Lord continually by a permanent ordinance.So they shall provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the oil, morning by morning, as a continual burnt offering.”‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ If the prince gives a gift from his inheritance to any of his sons, it shall belong to his sons; it is their possession by inheritance.But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall be his until the year of release; then it shall return to the prince. His inheritance shall be only his sons’; it shall belong to them.And the prince shall not take from the people’s inheritance, depriving them of their property; he shall give his sons inheritance from his own property, so that My people will not be scattered, anyone from his property.” ’ ”

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ Command the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ You shall be careful to present to Me My offering, My food for My offerings by fire, of a soothing aroma to Me, at their appointed time.’And you shall say to them,‘ This is the offering by fire which you shall offer to the Lord: two male lambs one year old without defect as a continual burnt offering every day.You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight;also a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with a fourth of a hin of pure oil.It is a continual burnt offering which was ordained on Mount Sinai as a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord.Then the drink offering with it shall be a fourth of a hin for each lamb; in the Holy Place pour out a drink offering of strong drink to the Lord.The other lamb you shall offer at twilight; as the grain offering of the morning and as its drink offering, you shall offer it, an offering by fire, a soothing aroma to the Lord.‘ Then on the Sabbath day two male lambs one year old without defect, and two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and its drink offering:This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.‘ Then at the beginning of each of your months you shall present a burnt offering to the Lord: two bulls and one ram, seven male lambs one year old without defect;and three tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, for each bull; and two tenths of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, for the one ram;and a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering for each lamb, as a burnt offering of a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord.Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull and a third of a hin for the ram and a fourth of a hin for a lamb; this is the burnt offering of each month throughout the months of the year.And one male goat as a sin offering to the Lord; it shall be offered with its drink offering in addition to the continual burnt offering.‘ The Lord’s Passover shall be on the fourteenth day of the first month.On the fifteenth day of this month there shall be a feast; unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days.On the first day there shall be a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work.But you shall present an offering by fire, a burnt offering to the Lord: two bulls and one ram, and seven male lambs one year old, that you have without defect.For their grain offering, you shall offer fine flour mixed with oil: three tenths of an ephah for a bull, and two tenths for the ram.A tenth of an ephah you shall offer for each of the seven lambs;and one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you.You shall present these besides the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.In this way you shall present daily, for seven days, the food of the offering by fire, of a soothing aroma to the Lord; it shall be presented with its drink offering in addition to the continual burnt offering.On the seventh day you shall have a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work.‘ Also on the day of the first fruits, when you present a new grain offering to the Lord in your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work.But you shall offer a burnt offering as a soothing aroma to the Lord: two bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs one year old;and as their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil: three tenths of an ephah for each bull, two tenths for the one ram,and a tenth for each of the seven lambs;also one male goat to make atonement for you.Besides the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, you shall present them with their drink offerings.
