但我的子民竟忘记我，向虚无的偶像烧香，以致他们在自己的路上、在古道上绊倒，行走小路，不是修建过的大道。他们的土地变为荒凉，成为永远被人嗤笑的对象；经过这地的，都必惊骇摇头。

这殿必成为废墟（按照《马索拉文本》，“成为废墟”应作“甚高”；现参照《叙利亚译本》翻译），经过的人都必惊讶，取笑说：耶和华为什么向这地和这殿这样作啊？
