亚哈斯把神殿里的器皿收集起来，把这些神殿里的器皿都击碎了，又封闭了耶和华殿的各门，并且在耶路撒冷的各个角落建造祭坛。

“你要吩咐以色列人，把点灯用的榨成的纯净橄榄油，拿来给你，使灯火长燃。在会幕中法柜的幔子外，亚伦要使这灯在耶和华面前通宵达旦地长燃；这是你们世世代代永远的律例。亚伦要不断地在耶和华面前，整理纯金灯台（“金灯台”或译：“洁净的灯台”）上的灯。“你要取细面烤成十二个饼，每一个饼用两公斤细面。你要把饼摆列成两排，每排六个，放在耶和华面前精金的桌子（“精金的桌子”或译：“洁净的桌子”）上；把纯乳香放在每排饼上，象征这些饼作献给耶和华的火祭。每一个安息日，亚伦都要把饼摆在耶和华面前，不可间断，这是以色列人永远的约。

“真愿你们当中有人把殿门关上，免得你们在我的坛上徒然点火。”万军之耶和华说：“我不喜欢你们，也不从你们手中收纳礼物。”

亚哈斯又砍掉盆座的边缘，把洗濯盆拿下来，又把铜海从驮着铜海的铜牛上取下来，放在铺了石的地上。又因亚述王的缘故，他把耶和华殿里为安息日而建造的廊子，和王从外边进殿的廊子，从耶和华的殿内拆除。

他在位的元年正月，开了耶和华殿的门，重新修理。
