對他說：「耶弗他如此說，以色列人並沒有佔據摩押地和亞捫人的地。以色列人從埃及上來乃是經過曠野到紅海，來到加低斯，就打發使者去見以東王，說：『求你容我從你的地經過。』以東王卻不應允。又照樣打發使者去見摩押王，他也不允准。以色列人就住在加低斯。他們又經過曠野，繞着以東和摩押地，從摩押地的東邊過來，在亞嫩河邊安營，並沒有入摩押的境內，因為亞嫩河是摩押的邊界。

走近亞捫人之地，不可擾害他們，也不可與他們爭戰。亞捫人的地，我不賜給你們為業，因我已將那地賜給羅得的子孫為業。』（

我必叫你成為大國。我必賜福給你，叫你的名為大；你也要叫別人得福。

他的智慧勝過萬人，勝過以斯拉人以探，並瑪曷的兒子希幔、甲各、達大的智慧。他的名聲傳揚在四圍的列國。

亞捫人的王拿轄上來，對着基列‧雅比安營。雅比眾人對拿轄說：「你與我們立約，我們就服事你。」
