Amaziah, however, would not listen, for God so worked that he might deliver them into the hands of Jehoash, because they sought the gods of Edom.

彼此不合皆散、將散時、保羅發一言曰、昔聖神託先知以賽亞告我列祖之言誠是、其言云、往告此民曰、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、蓋此民之心冥頑、自聾其耳、自閉其目、免其目視耳聽心悟、悔改而我醫之、

彼惡者至、藉撒但之力、行一切虛偽之大能異跡奇事、及種種惑眾之邪惡、在將沈淪者之中、蓋彼眾不悅真理、且不受之而得救、故天主使其大謬、信從虛偽、

亦為蹶人之石、礙人之磐、彼不信道者因之蹶焉、彼等亦為此預定也、
