乃從以色列列王之道、使猶大人及耶路撒冷居民狥欲、如亞哈家然、又戮爾父家諸弟、愈於爾者、

乃效以色列列王尤、使猶大族、耶路撒冷民、狥私欲、拜偶像、與亞哈家無異、亦因爾殺愈己之昆弟、

乃效以色列列王之所為、使猶大人與耶路撒冷居民行邪、與亞哈家無異、又在爾父家殺愈爾之諸弟、

Instead, you have followed the ways of the kings of Israel. You have led Judah and the people of Jerusalem to worship other gods, just as the royal family of Ahab did. Also, you have murdered your own brothers. They were members of your own family. They were better men than you are.

but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel and have enticed Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem into whoredom, as the house of Ahab led Israel into whoredom, and also you have killed your brothers, of your father’s house, who were better than you,

Instead, you have been as evil as the kings of Israel. You have led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship idols, just as King Ahab did in Israel. And you have even killed your own brothers, men who were better than you.

When Jehoram established himself firmly over his father’s kingdom, he put all his brothers to the sword along with some of the officials of Israel.

I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come in peace, Jehu?”“ How can there be peace,” Jehu replied,“ as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?”

But Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord and sinned more than all those before him.

The Lord said,“ What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

They said to one another,“ Surely we are being punished because of our brother. We saw how distressed he was when he pleaded with us for his life, but we would not listen; that’s why this distress has come on us.”Reuben replied,“ Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn’t listen! Now we must give an accounting for his blood.”

See, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed on it; the earth will conceal its slain no longer.

“ Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and establishes a town by injustice!
