People came and told Jehoshaphat,“ A vast number from beyond the Dead Sea and from Edom has come to fight against you; they are already in Hazazon-tamar”( that is, En-gedi).

有人来报告约沙法说：“从海外亚兰那边有大军来攻击你，如今他们在哈洗逊他玛，就是隐基底。”

有人禀告约沙法说：“有一支大军从死海对岸的以东杀来，已经攻到哈洗逊·他玛。”哈洗逊·他玛就是隐·基底。

有人来向约沙法报告说：“从海的对岸，就是从以东（按照《马索拉文本》的绝大部分文本，“以东”作“亚兰”，大概是手民之误﹔两者在原文非常相似﹐但按地理应作“以东”），有大军前来攻击你；现在他们在哈洗逊．他玛。”哈洗逊．他玛就是隐．基底。

或告約沙法曰、有羣眾自海外亞蘭來攻爾、今在哈洗遜他瑪、即隱基底、

或告約沙法曰、鹽海之東、亞蘭之南、群眾咸至、欲攻擊爾、今在哈洗遜大馬、即隱其底。

有人來告約沙法曰、自鹽海外、又自亞蘭、亞蘭又作以東有群眾至以攻爾、今在哈洗遜他瑪、即隱基底、

Some people came and told Jehoshaphat,“ A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar”( that is, En Gedi).

Some people came and told him,“ A huge army is coming from Edom to fight against you. They have come across the Dead Sea. They are already in Hazezon Tamar.” Hazezon Tamar is also called En Gedi.

Some men came and told Jehoshaphat,“ A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar”( that is, Engedi).

Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat,“ A vast army from Edom is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea. They are already at Hazazon tamar.”( This was another name for En gedi.)

Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying,“ A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Aram; and behold, they are in Hazazon tamar( that is Engedi).”

Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying,“ A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar”( which is En Gedi).

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazon- tamar( the same is En- gedi).

People came and told Jehoshaphat,“ A vast number from beyond the Dead Sea and from Edom has come to fight against you; they are already in Hazazon-tamar”( that is, En-gedi).

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they[ be] in Hazazontamar, which[ is] Engedi.

Messengers arrived and reported to Jehoshaphat,“ A huge army is attacking you from the other side of the Dead Sea, from the direction of Edom. Look, they are in Hazezon Tamar( that is, En Gedi).”

Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying,“ A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar”( that is, En Gedi).

Then they came back to invade En-mishpat( that is, Kadesh), and they defeated the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.

From there David went up and stayed in the strongholds of En-gedi.

All of these came as allies to the Siddim Valley( that is, the Dead Sea).

The one I love is a cluster of henna blossoms to me, in the vineyards of En-gedi.

and the water flowing downstream stood still, rising up in a mass that extended as far as Adam, a city next to Zarethan. The water flowing downstream into the Sea of the Arabah— the Dead Sea— was completely cut off, and the people crossed opposite Jericho.

Then the border will go down to the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea. This will be your land defined by its borders on all sides.”
