The king of Israel then ordered,“ Take Micaiah and send him back to Amon the ruler of the city and to Joash the king’s son,

Then the king of Israel gave an order. He said,“ Take Micaiah away. Send him back to Amon. Amon is the ruler of the city of Samaria. And send Micaiah back to Joash. Joash is a member of the royal court.

And the king of Israel said,“ Seize Micaiah and take him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son,

“ Arrest him!” the king of Israel ordered.“ Take him back to Amon, the governor of the city, and to my son Joash.

Then the king of Israel ordered,“ Take Micaiah and return him to Amon, the governor of the city, and to Joash, the king’s son,

官長們大怒，命人鞭打耶利米，把他囚禁在書記約拿單的房子裡，因為他們已把這房子改作監牢。耶利米被囚禁在地牢中許多天。後來，西底迦王派人把他帶到自己的宮中，私下問他：「耶和華有什麼話給你嗎？」耶利米說：「有，你要被交在巴比倫王手中。」耶利米又問他：「我在什麼事上得罪了你、你的臣僕或人民，以致你們把我囚在監牢中？那些曾向你們預言『巴比倫王絕不會來這裡攻打你們』的先知如今在哪裡呢？現在，我主我王啊，請聽我說！求你不要把我送回書記約拿單的房子，免得我死在那裡。」於是，西底迦王下令把耶利米囚在護衛兵的院子裡，派人每天從餅鋪取一個餅給他，直到城中絕糧。耶利米就這樣住在護衛兵的院子裡。

於是，他們拿住耶利米，用繩子把他縋到王子瑪基雅的蓄水池裡。那池子在護衛兵的院子裡，池中沒有水，只有淤泥。耶利米就陷在淤泥中。那時，王正坐在便雅憫門口。宮廷侍臣古實人以伯·米勒聽說他們把耶利米囚在蓄水池裡，

約西亞執政第十八年，潔淨國土和聖殿以後，就差遣亞薩利雅的兒子沙番、耶路撒冷的總督瑪西雅和約哈斯的兒子約亞史官負責整修他的上帝耶和華的殿。
