他對那歸耶和華為聖、教導以色列眾人的利未人說：「你們將聖約櫃安放在以色列王大衛兒子所羅門建造的殿裏，不必再用肩扛抬。現在你們要服事耶和華－你們的上帝和他的百姓以色列。

以色列人不信真神，沒有訓誨的祭司，也沒有律法，已經許多日子了。

那日的四分之一，他們站在自己的地方念耶和華－他們上帝的律法書，又在那日的四分之一認罪，敬拜耶和華－他們的上帝。

孩子們哪，來聽我！我要將敬畏耶和華的道教導你們。

他們將你的典章教導雅各，將你的律法教導以色列。他們奉上香讓你聞，把全牲的燔祭獻在你壇上。

再者，傳道者因有智慧，將知識教導眾人；他思量，考察，並列舉出許多箴言。傳道者專心尋求可喜悅的言語，是憑正直寫的誠實話。

提阿非羅啊，我在第一本書中已論到耶穌從開頭所做和所教導的一切事，

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裏教導人，宣講天國的福音，醫治百姓各樣的疾病。

耶穌就用許多比喻教導他們。在教導的時候，他對他們說：

我傳道者在耶路撒冷作過以色列的王。

希西家慰勞所有精通禮儀，事奉耶和華的利未人。於是眾人吃節期的筵席七日，又獻平安祭，並且稱謝耶和華－他們列祖的上帝。

列王必作你的養父，王后必作你的乳母。他們必以臉伏地，向你下拜，並舔你腳上的塵土。你就知道我是耶和華，等候我的必不致羞愧。」

我就把你的道指教有過犯的人，罪人必歸順你。

耶書亞、巴尼、示利比、雅憫、亞谷、沙比太、荷第雅、瑪西雅、基利他、亞撒利雅、約撒拔、哈難、毗萊雅和利未人使百姓明白律法；百姓都站在自己的地方。他們清清楚楚地念上帝的律法書，講明意思，使百姓明白所念的。

看，我照着耶和華－我的上帝所吩咐我的，將律例和典章教導你們，使你們在所要進去得為業的地上遵行。

但耶穌對他們說：「我也必須在別的城傳上帝國的福音，因我奉差原是為此。」於是耶穌在猶太的各會堂傳道。

次日，眾百姓的族長、祭司和利未人都聚集到以斯拉文士那裏，要明白律法書上的話。他們發現律法書上寫着，耶和華藉摩西吩咐以色列人要在七月的節期中住在棚裏，
