來吧，我們歸向耶和華！他撕裂我們，也必醫治；他打傷我們，也必纏裹。

以色列人哀求耶和華說：「我們得罪了你；因為離棄了我們神，去事奉諸巴力。」耶和華對以色列人說：「我豈沒有救過你們脫離埃及人、亞摩利人、亞捫人，和非利士人嗎？西頓人、亞瑪力人、馬雲人也都欺壓你們；你們哀求我，我也拯救你們脫離他們的手。你們竟離棄我，事奉別神！所以我不再救你們了。你們去哀求所選擇的神；你們遭遇急難的時候，讓他救你們吧！」以色列人對耶和華說：「我們犯罪了，任憑你隨意待我們吧！只求你今日拯救我們。」以色列人就除掉他們中間的外邦神，事奉耶和華。耶和華因以色列人受的苦難，就心中擔憂。

然而，他聽見他們哀告的時候，就眷顧他們的急難，

又有以賽亞放膽說：沒有尋找我的，我叫他們遇見；沒有訪問我的，我向他們顯現。

以色列啊，你要歸向耶和華－你的神；你是因自己的罪孽跌倒了。當歸向耶和華，用言語禱告他說：求你除淨罪孽，悅納善行；這樣，我們就把嘴唇的祭代替牛犢獻上。我們不向亞述求救，不騎埃及的馬，也不再對我們手所造的說：你是我們的神。因為孤兒在你－耶和華那裏得蒙憐憫。

以色列人呼求耶和華的時候，耶和華就為他們興起一位拯救者救他們，就是迦勒兄弟基納斯的兒子俄陀聶。耶和華的靈降在他身上，他就作了以色列的士師，出去爭戰。耶和華將美索不達米亞王古珊‧利薩田交在他手中，他便勝了古珊‧利薩田。
