你們要趁著耶和華可以尋找的時候，尋找他，趁著他靠近的時候，呼求他。

猶大眾人都為了所起的誓快樂，因為他們一心起誓，盡意尋求耶和華，耶和華就給他們尋見，並且使他們四境安寧。

沒有求問我的，我讓他們尋著；沒有尋找我的，我讓他們遇見。沒有呼求我名的國，我對他們說：“我在這裡！我在這裡！”我整天向著悖逆的子民伸開雙手，他們隨著自己的意念行不善的道。

但你們在那裡必尋求耶和華你的神；如果你一心一意尋找他，就必尋見。日後，你落在患難中，這些事都臨到你身上的時候，你必歸向耶和華你的神，聽從他的話；

“來吧！讓我們回轉歸向耶和華；因為，他雖然撕裂了我們，但必定醫治我們；他雖然擊傷了我們，卻必替我們裹傷。

以色列人向耶和華哀求，說：“我們得罪了你，因為我們離棄了我們的神，服事眾巴力。”耶和華對以色列人說：“我不是曾經拯救你們脫離埃及人、亞摩利人、亞捫人和非利士人嗎？西頓人、亞瑪力人、馬雲人也都壓迫你們；你們向我哀求，我也拯救你們脫離他們的手。你們竟離棄了我，服事別的神，因此我不再拯救你們了。你們去向你們揀選的神呼求吧！讓他們在你們遭遇患難的時候拯救你們吧。”以色列人對耶和華說：“我們犯了罪了，你任意對待我們吧；只求你今日拯救我們。”以色列人就從他們中間除去外族人的神，事奉耶和華；耶和華的心因以色列人所受的患難，就很著急。

可是他聽到了他們哀叫的時候，就垂顧他們的苦難。

後來，以賽亞也放膽地說：“沒有尋找我的，我讓他們找到；沒有求問我的，我向他們顯現。”

以色列啊，回轉吧！回到耶和華你的神那裡，因為你是因自己的罪孽跌倒的。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為14:2）你們預備好要說的話，歸向耶和華，對他說：“除去我們一切罪孽，悅納我們的禱告。這樣我們就把嘴唇的果子獻上。亞述不能救我們，我們必不再騎馬；我們親手所做的，我們必不再稱為‘我們的神’；因為在你那裡，孤兒才得著憐憫。”

以色列人向耶和華哀求的時候，耶和華就為以色列人興起一位拯救者拯救他們，就是迦勒的弟弟基納斯的兒子俄陀聶。耶和華的靈臨到他身上，他就治理以色列人；他出去作戰，耶和華把亞蘭王古珊．利薩田交在他手中，他的能力就勝過了古珊．利薩田。
