King Asa also deposed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive image for the worship of Asherah. Asa cut it down, broke it up and burned it in the Kidron Valley.

King Asa also removed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother. That’s because she had made a pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. The Lord hated it. So Asa cut it down. He broke it up. He burned it in the Kidron Valley.

Even Maacah, his mother, King Asa removed from being queen mother because she had made a detestable image for Asherah. Asa cut down her image, crushed it, and burned it at the brook Kidron.

並且貶了他祖母瑪迦太后的位，因她造了可憎的偶像亞舍拉。亞撒砍下她的偶像，燒在汲淪溪邊，只是邱壇還沒有廢去。亞撒一生卻向耶和華存誠實的心。亞撒將他父親所分別為聖與自己所分別為聖的金銀和器皿都奉到耶和華的殿裏。亞撒和以色列王巴沙在世的日子常常爭戰。以色列王巴沙上來要攻擊猶大，修築拉瑪，不許人從猶大王亞撒那裏出入。於是亞撒將耶和華殿和王宮府庫裏所剩下的金銀都交在他臣僕手中，打發他們往住大馬士革的亞蘭王－希旬的孫子、他伯利們的兒子便‧哈達那裏去，說：「你父曾與我父立約，我與你也要立約。現在我將金銀送你為禮物，求你廢掉你與以色列王巴沙所立的約，使他離開我。」便‧哈達聽從亞撒王的話，派軍長去攻擊以色列的城邑；他們就攻破以雲、但、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、基尼烈全境、拿弗他利全境。巴沙聽見，就停工不修築拉瑪了，仍住在得撒。於是亞撒王宣告猶大眾人，不准一個推辭，吩咐他們將巴沙修築拉瑪所用的石頭、木頭都運去，用以修築便雅憫的迦巴和米斯巴。亞撒其餘的事，凡他所行的，並他的勇力與他所建築的城邑，都寫在猶大列王記上。亞撒年老的時候，腳上有病。亞撒與他列祖同睡，葬在他祖大衛城他列祖的墳地裏。他兒子約沙法接續他作王。

在耶路撒冷作王三年。他母親名叫瑪迦，是押沙龍的女兒。

卻要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍下他們的木偶。

在耶路撒冷作王四十一年。他祖母名叫瑪迦，是押沙龍的女兒。

他將伯特利的壇，就是叫以色列人陷在罪裏、尼八的兒子耶羅波安所築的那壇，都拆毀焚燒，打碎成灰，並焚燒了亞舍拉。

又從耶和華殿裏將亞舍拉搬到耶路撒冷外汲淪溪邊焚燒，打碎成灰，將灰撒在平民的墳上；

又拆毀祭壇，把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍斷以色列遍地所有的日像，就回耶路撒冷去了。

若再有人說預言，生他的父母必對他說：『你不得存活，因為你託耶和華的名說假預言。』生他的父母在他說預言的時候，要將他刺透。

又將他們所鑄的牛犢用火焚燒，磨得粉碎，撒在水面上，叫以色列人喝。

他對他們說：「耶和華－以色列的神這樣說：『你們各人把刀跨在腰間，在營中往來，從這門到那門，各人殺他的弟兄與同伴並鄰舍。』」利未的子孫照摩西的話行了。那一天百姓中被殺的約有三千。

亞撒行耶和華－他神眼中看為善為正的事，除掉外邦神的壇和邱壇，打碎柱像，砍下木偶，吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華－他們列祖的神，遵行他的律法、誡命；又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇和日像，那時國享太平；

「你的同胞弟兄，或是你的兒女，或是你懷中的妻，或是如同你性命的朋友，若暗中引誘你，說：『我們不如去事奉你和你列祖素來所不認識的別神－是你四圍列國的神。』無論是離你近，離你遠，從地這邊到地那邊的神，你不可依從他，也不可聽從他，眼不可顧惜他。你不可憐恤他，也不可遮庇他，

你們卻要這樣待他們：拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍下他們的木偶，用火焚燒他們雕刻的偶像。

猶大列王在亞哈斯樓頂上所築的壇和瑪拿西在耶和華殿兩院中所築的壇，王都拆毀打碎了，就把灰倒在汲淪溪中。

所以，我們從今以後，不憑着外貌認人了。雖然憑着外貌認過基督，如今卻不再這樣認他了。

我把那叫你們犯罪所鑄的牛犢用火焚燒，又搗碎磨得很細，以致細如灰塵，我就把這灰塵撒在從山上流下來的溪水中。

他論自己的父母說：我未曾看見；他也不承認弟兄，也不認識自己的兒女。這是因利未人遵行你的話，謹守你的約。

當下，耶穌的母親和弟兄來，站在外邊，打發人去叫他。有許多人在耶穌周圍坐着，他們就告訴他說：「看哪，你母親和你弟兄在外邊找你。」耶穌回答說：「誰是我的母親？誰是我的弟兄？」就四面觀看那周圍坐着的人，說：「看哪，我的母親，我的弟兄。凡遵行神旨意的人就是我的弟兄姊妹和母親了。」

耶穌的親屬聽見，就出來要拉住他，因為他們說他癲狂了。

我又要毀壞你們的邱壇，砍下你們的日像，把你們的屍首扔在你們偶像的身上；我的心也必厭惡你們。

他們雕刻的神像，你們要用火焚燒；其上的金銀，你不可貪圖，也不可收取，免得你因此陷入網羅；這原是耶和華－你神所憎惡的。可憎的物，你不可帶進家去；不然，你就成了當毀滅的，與那物一樣。你要十分厭惡，十分憎嫌，因為這是當毀滅的物。」
