亞撒和跟隨他的人民追趕他們，直到基拉耳；古實人被殺的很多，不能恢復強盛；因為他們在耶和華和他的軍隊面前被擊潰了；猶大人奪取了極多戰利品。他們又攻擊基拉耳周圍的一切城市，因為各城的人都懼怕耶和華。猶大人又把各城洗掠一空，因為城中的財物甚多。他們又毀壞了牲畜的棚，牽走了很多的羊和駱駝，然後回耶路撒冷去了。

掃羅回答：“這是眾民從亞瑪力人那裡帶來的，因為他們愛惜這些上好的牛羊，要獻給耶和華你的神為祭；其餘的，我們都已經徹底毀滅了。”

現在我們把耶和華的供物，都送來了，就是我們各人所得的金器、腳鍊子、鐲子、打印戒指、耳環、手釧，好在耶和華面前，為我們自己贖罪。”

這示羅密和他的兄弟掌管庫房裡的一切聖物，就是大衛王、眾家族首領、千夫長、百夫長和軍長所獻的聖物。他們把在戰場上掠奪的財物獻上，用作修建耶和華的殿。

所羅門王獻上了二萬二千頭牛、十二萬隻羊為祭。這樣，王和全體人民為神的殿舉行了奉獻禮。

所羅門上到耶和華會幕前面的銅祭壇旁邊，在壇上獻上了一千隻燔祭牲。

你又要從出去打仗的人所得的，無論是人、牛、驢，或羊群之中，抽出五百分之一作貢物奉給耶和華；你們要從他們那一半中抽出，交給以利亞撒祭司，作耶和華的舉祭。

可是眾民卻從那些戰利品中，取了應當毀滅之物中上好的牛羊，要在吉甲獻給耶和華你的神為祭。”
