She said to the men,“ I know the LORD is handing this land over to you. Kings leading armies run away– they run away! The lovely lady of the house divides up the loot.

They will surrender their stronghold because of fear; their officers will be afraid of the LORD’s battle flag.” This is what the LORD says– the one whose fire is in Zion, whose firepot is in Jerusalem.

This very day I will begin to fill all the people of the earth with dread and to terrify them when they hear about you. They will shiver and shake in anticipation of your approach.”

Then the people went out and looted the Syrian camp. A seah of finely milled flour sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, just as the LORD had said they would.

Terrifying sounds fill his ears; in a time of peace marauders attack him.

They told Joshua,“ Surely the LORD is handing over all the land to us! All who live in the land are cringing before us!”

Jehoshaphat and his men went to gather the plunder; they found a huge amount of supplies, clothing and valuable items. They carried away everything they could. There was so much plunder, it took them three days to haul it off.

Though at this time your ropes are slack, the mast is not secured, and the sail is not unfurled, at that time you will divide up a great quantity of loot; even the lame will drag off plunder.

The LORD’s spirit empowered him. He went down to Ashkelon and murdered thirty men. He took their clothes and gave them to the men who had solved the riddle. He was furious as he went back home.

No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!
