But didn’t you drive out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and make priests of your own as the peoples of other lands do? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may become a priest of what are not gods.

But you drove out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron. You also drove out the Levites. You appointed your own priests. That’s what the people of other nations do. Anyone can come and set himself apart. All he has to do is sacrifice a young bull and seven rams. Then he becomes a priest of gods that aren’t really gods at all!

Have you not driven out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes for ordination with a young bull or seven rams becomes a priest of what are not gods.

But you have chased away the priests of the Lord( the descendants of Aaron) and the Levites, and you have appointed your own priests, just like the pagan nations. You let anyone become a priest these days! Whoever comes to be dedicated with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of these so called gods of yours!

Didn’t you banish the priests of the LORD, the descendants of Aaron and the Levites, and make your own priests like the peoples of other lands do? Whoever comes to ordain himself with a young bull and seven rams may become a priest of what are not gods.

Have you not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests, like the peoples of other lands, so that whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of things that are not gods?

Have ye not driven out the priests of Jehovah, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made you priests after the manner of the peoples of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

利未人撇下了他們郊野的牧場和產業，來到猶大和耶路撒冷，是因為耶羅波安和他兒子們屏絕了他們，不許他們當祭司來事奉永恆主；耶羅波安卻為邱壇、為野山羊神、為自己所造的牛犢設立了祭司。

哪有一國換了他們的神呢？其實那些並不是神；但我的人民卻將他們的榮耀換了那無益的神。

『照我所吩咐你的一切事、你要向亞倫和他兒子們行；給他們授與聖職要舉行七天。

摩西說：『今天你們授聖職與自己歸永恆主了，因為各人犧牲了自己的兒子或弟兄，好使今天有祝福給予你們。』

但從前你們不認識上帝的時候，是給那些本性不是神的做奴僕。

『你要將亞倫帶來，叫他的兒子們和他一同來，也將聖衣和膏油、跟作為解罪祭的一隻公牛、兩隻公綿羊、和一筐無酵餅、都帶來；

你們看，你們聽，不但在以弗所、也幾乎在全亞西亞、這個保羅都唆誘了帶壞了好大羣的人，說：「那些用人手作的並不是神。」

將他們的神像都扔在火裏；因為他們並不是神，乃是人手造的，木頭石頭的；故此他們才除滅他們。

耶羅波安造了邱壇上的殿，將不屬利未子孫範圍內的平常人立為祭司。耶羅波安定了八月十五日為節期，像在猶大的節期一樣；他自己上去、在祭壇旁獻祭；在伯特利他也這樣作，向他所造的牛犢獻祭，又將他所立為邱壇的祭司安置在伯特利。八月十五日、他心裏自定的月日、他自己上去，在他所造於伯特利的祭壇旁獻祭；他為以色列人定了節期，自己上去、在祭壇旁燻祭。

這事以後、耶羅波安仍然沒有從他的壞行徑上回轉過來；反而把平常範圍內的人立為邱壇的祭司；凡願意的、他都授與聖職，使他做邱壇的祭司。

那被膏立承受聖職接替他父親為祭司的、要穿上細麻布衣服、就是聖衣、來行除罪禮。

金子可作金器，銀子可作銀器，和由匠人的手可作的一切巧工。今日有誰甘心自願拱手奉獻與永恆主呢？』

那牛犢像是匠人造的，並不是神。撒瑪利亞的牛犢像必定成了碎片。

『你將亞倫和他兒子們分別為聖，使他們作祭司來事奉我，在他們身上所要作的就是以下這些事：取一隻牛、是小公牛、兩隻完全沒有殘疾的公綿羊，

他們獻祭給鬼魔、並不是真神，乃是他們素不認識的神，是近來新興的，是你們列祖所不畏懼的。

『我怎能赦免你呢？你的兒女離棄了我，指着那不是神的來起誓。我使他們飽足，他們竟行姦淫，羣集在妓女家裏。
