永恆主我們的上帝啊，你以外曾有別的主上管理我們，但只有對你、我們要承認你的名。

『因為你不為了樣樣富足的緣故而以歡樂高興的心事奉永恆主你的上帝，故此你必在饑餓乾渴、赤身裸體、樣樣缺乏之中去服事永恆主所打發來攻擊你的仇敵；他必用鐵軛加在你脖子上，直到將你消滅。

他們雖在列國中賄買人，如今我卻要把他們收拾掉；他們必稍息片時不膏抹君王和首領。

唉，我們今天竟做了服事人的奴僕了！至於你所賜給我們列祖的地來喫這上頭的果實和它的美物的呢、唉，我們在這地上竟做了服事人的奴僕呢！

永恆主啊，懲罰我，但要合乎常度，不要氣忿忿地，恐怕你會減少我的人數。

以下這些國的人就是永恆主所留下，為要藉着他們來試驗以色列人，一切不曾經驗過迦南任何戰事的人，
