Solomon replied to God,“ You demonstrated great loyalty to my father David and have made me king in his place.

所羅門回答說：「你厚待我父大衛，並讓我繼位。

所羅門對神說：“你曾經向我的父親大衛大施慈愛，使我接續他作王。

所羅門對上帝說：『你曾向我父大衛大施堅固的愛，使我接替他作王。

所羅門曰、爾施鴻慈於我父大衛、使我繼之為王、

所羅門曰、爾施厚恩於我父大闢、令我繼位。

所羅門對天主曰、主賜大恩於我父大衛、使我繼之為王、

Solomon answered God,“ You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.

Solomon answered God,“ You were very kind to my father David. Now you have made me king in his place.

And Solomon said to God,“ You have shown great and steadfast love to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

Solomon replied to God,“ You showed great and faithful love to David, my father, and now you have made me king in his place.

And Solomon said to God,“ You have shown great and faithful love to my father David, and you have made me king in his place.

And Solomon said to God,“ You have dealt with my father David with great faithfulness, and have made me king in his place.

And Solomon said to God:“ You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast showed great lovingkindness unto David my father, and hast made me king in his stead.

And Solomon said to God:“ You have shown great and faithful love to my father David, and You have made me king in his place.

And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.

Solomon said to God,“ You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

From all the many sons the LORD has given me, he chose Solomon my son to rule on his behalf over Israel.

Solomon sat on the LORD’s throne as king in place of his father David; he was successful and all Israel was loyal to him.

He gives his chosen king magnificent victories; he is faithful to his chosen ruler, to David and to his descendants forever!”These are the final words of David:“ The oracle of David son of Jesse, the oracle of the man raised up as the ruler chosen by the God of Jacob, Israel’s beloved singer of songs:

Nathan said to David,“ You are that man! This is what the LORD God of Israel says:‘ I chose you to be king over Israel and I rescued you from the hand of Saul.I gave you your master’s house, and put your master’s wives into your arms. I also gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if all that somehow seems insignificant, I would have given you so much more as well!

Where are your earlier faithful deeds, O Lord, the ones performed in accordance with your reliable oath to David?

I have discovered David, my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him as king.My hand will support him, and my arm will strengthen him.No enemy will be able to exact tribute from him; a violent oppressor will not be able to humiliate him.I will crush his enemies before him; I will strike down those who hate him.He will experience my faithfulness and loyal love, and by my name he will win victories.I will place his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.He will call out to me,‘ You are my father, my God, and the protector who delivers me.’I will appoint him to be my firstborn son, the most exalted of the earth’s kings.I will always extend my loyal love to him, and my covenant with him is secure.

Pay attention and come to me! Listen, so you can live! Then I will make an unconditional covenantal promise to you, just like the reliable covenantal promises I made to David.

“ So now, say this to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you leader of my people Israel.I was with you wherever you went, and I defeated all your enemies before you. Now I will make you as famous as the great men of the earth.

For you will extend your great loyal love to me, and will deliver my life from the depths of Sheol.
