大卫起身，率领跟随他的众人前往，要从巴拉犹大将神的约柜运来；这约柜就是坐在二基路伯上万军之耶和华留名的约柜。

于是，大卫和以色列的长老，并千夫长都去从俄别以东的家欢欢喜喜地将耶和华的约柜抬上来。神赐恩与抬耶和华约柜的利未人，他们就献上七只公牛，七只公羊。大卫和抬约柜的利未人，并歌唱人的首领基拿尼雅，以及歌唱的人，都穿着细麻布的外袍；大卫另外穿着细麻布的以弗得。这样，以色列众人欢呼吹角、吹号、敲钹、鼓瑟、弹琴，大发响声，将耶和华的约柜抬上来。

众人将神的约柜请进去，安放在大卫所搭的帐幕里，就在神面前献燔祭和平安祭。

大卫在大卫城为自己建造宫殿，又为神的约柜预备地方，支搭帐幕。

直等我为耶和华寻得所在，为雅各的大能者寻得居所。”我们听说约柜在以法他，我们在基列耶琳就寻见了。

于是，大卫将以色列人从埃及的西曷河直到哈马口都招聚了来，要从基列耶琳将神的约柜运来。大卫率领以色列众人上到巴拉，就是属犹大的基列耶琳，要从那里将约柜运来。这约柜就是坐在二基路伯上耶和华神留名的约柜。
