致書於歌羅森信奉基督之忠實聖徒曰：伏願天主聖父、降爾聖寵、鍚爾平安。

蓋爾之確信吾主耶穌、篤愛眾聖、時有所聞；行見爾之信德、發為妙果、令人景仰、而翕然歸依基督。仁愛如兄、實令吾歡忭鼓舞、情不自禁；即諸聖之心、亦因兄而獲浣慰焉。

我乃一長老也、曾目擊基督之受苦蒙難、且於來日將顯之光榮、預有其分焉。吾欲憑此資格、為爾中任長老者進一言。

一身不能兼事二主、不嫉此而愛彼、必附此而棄彼矣。天主之與財富、兩者固不能並事也。
