For the Scripture says: Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain, and,“ The worker is worthy of his wages.”

For Scripture says,“ Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and“ The worker deserves his wages.”

Scripture says,“ Do not stop an ox from eating while it helps separate the grain from the straw.”( Deuteronomy 25:4) Scripture also says,“ Workers are worthy of their pay.”( Luke 10:7)

For the Scripture says,“ You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and,“ The laborer deserves his wages.”

Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock and does not drink the milk from the flock?Am I saying this from a human perspective? Doesn’t the law also say the same thing?For it is written in the law of Moses, Do not muzzle an ox while it treads out grain. Is God really concerned about oxen?Isn’t he really saying it for our sake? Yes, this is written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes should thresh in hope of sharing the crop.

In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should earn their living by the gospel.

Remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they offer, for the worker is worthy of his wages. Don’t move from house to house.

Don’t take a traveling bag for the road, or an extra shirt, sandals, or a staff, for the worker is worthy of his food.

“ Do not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether one of your Israelite brothers or one of the resident aliens in a town in your land.You are to pay him his wages each day before the sun sets, because he is poor and depends on them. Otherwise he will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be held guilty.

“ Do not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages due a hired worker must not remain with you until morning.

Or do you think it’s without reason that the Scripture says: The spirit he made to dwell in us envies intensely?

For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame,

Now the Scripture saw in advance that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and proclaimed the gospel ahead of time to Abraham, saying, All the nations will be blessed through you.

For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.

For the Scripture tells Pharaoh, I raised you up for this reason so that I may display my power in you and that my name may be proclaimed in the whole earth.

God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Or don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he pleads with God against Israel?
