Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self- controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

彼此應互盡東道之誼、慇懃款接無怨言嗇色、

寡婦年逾六十、而未再醮者、乃可予以入冊。

年長之人、宜有節制、莊敬自持、謹慎小心、於信德、愛德、耐德、涵養純熟。

對於羈旅之人、亦當勉盡東道之誼；昔人有於無意中接納天神者焉。

亦須先予陶冶、無可指摘、始可充任副祭、女司亦宜莊重自愛、毋道人短、溫恭和平、謹事而信。

爾等宜惺惺昭昭、恆自警惕、蓋與爾為敵之魔鬼、如吼獅猖獗、遍覓可吞之人。

俾成完人、而為天主之孝子、處邪污之世、而能保守清白、明如日月、照耀乾坤；

二人居仁由義、昭事天主、遵行誡命、靡有愆忒、

應知吾人能堅信不渝、始終如一、則與基督融為一體矣。

禁止嫁娶、戒絕某種食物；夫食物乃天主所造也、亦在具有信德、而身體真道者、感恩受之而已矣。

萬物之終局、已日近一日、爾其朝乾夕惕、儆醒祈禱。
