But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I have seen the consummation of all perfection, But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me.I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts.I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.I have not departed from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me.How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

“ You came down also on Mount Sinai, And spoke with them from heaven, And gave them just ordinances and true laws, Good statutes and commandments.

Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say,‘ surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’“ For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?

For I know that in me( that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.

Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold!Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I hate every false way.
