We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? Far from it! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by bringing about my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful.

However, if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, that the Law is good.

The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much pure gold; Sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

I have seen a limit to all perfection; Your commandment is exceedingly broad. MemHow I love Your Law! It is my meditation all the day.Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine.I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.I understand more than those who are old, Because I have complied with Your precepts.I have restrained my feet from every evil way, So that I may keep Your word.I have not turned aside from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me.How sweet are Your words to my taste! And if someone likewise competes as an athlete, he is not crowned as victor unless he competes according to the rules.

Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? Far from it! For if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.

Then You came down on Mount Sinai, And spoke with them from heaven; You gave them just ordinances and true laws, Good statutes and commandments.

So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say,‘ Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him?Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole Law which I am setting before you today?

For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

For I joyfully agree with the law of God in the inner person,
